Shivam Dube, an Indian cricketer renowned for his all-round performances in various cricket leagues, is being discussed for potential selection in the T20 World Cup in 2024.
Born on June 26, 1993, he made his debut in IPL in 2019. Earlier he played for Mumbai in domestic cricket.
Making his debut in 2019, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He has played 51 matches to date in his IPL career and has scored 1099 runs, slamming 6 half-centuries, with his highest IPL score being 95* runs.
He joined RCB in 2019–2020, moved to RR in 2021, then joined CSK in 2022, and CSK has retained him so far.
In addition to his batting skills, he is also known for his right-arm medium pace bowling.
Under Dhoni's mentorship at CSK, Dube flourished in the Afghanistan series, showcasing unbeaten half-centuries with dynamic play, particularly against spinners.
Owing to his impressive performance in the Afghanistan series, selectors are thinking of him for the all-rounder position in India's squad for the T20 World Cup in June.
"However, as a bowler, Dube remains a work in progress, after he took 1 wicket by giving 36 runs in the Afghanistan series," Dravid says.
"He looks like a late bloomer, which is fine. Regardless of how much cricket he has played [for India], which means he has got the experience," according to former India batter WV Raman.
