Born on February 18, 2002, she hails from Goria village in Jhajjar district, Haryana.
Specialized in 10m air pistol shooting, she began her career at the age of 14, shortly after the Rio Olympics 2016.
In 2017, she made a significant mark on the national shooting scene by winning nine gold medals at the National Shooting Championships, launching her into the international spotlight.
In 2018, Manu achieved her first major international success by winning gold at the ISSF World Cup in Mexico, making her the youngest Indian gold medalist in the event.
She has won Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Despite her early successes, Manu faced challenges, including periods of inconsistent performance & intense competition from fellow shooters. However, her determination saw her through tough times.
She represented India at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Though she didn't medal, the experience was vital for her growth as an athlete.
Recently, she created buzz by securing a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol shooting event at the Paris Summer Olympics 2024.
After her first win, she wrote history by becoming the first Indian to secure 2 Olympic medals in a single editon.
