Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a dessert enthusiast, this celebration promises to be a treat for all.
We had an absolute blast baking with Chef Dhanashri, where a classic chocolate tart transformed into a deliciously gooey choco lava cake! How? Even we’re processing it. The experience was filled with laughter, learning, and of course, lots of delectable chocolate!
What if a real-life Pastry Chef asked our in-house creator Sakshi who can’t even boil an egg to collaborate on a dessert? Seems easy? Well, it wasn’t! Each of them got 5 minutes to cook before they switched. Only Chef Dhanashri knew what the dish was. It was quite a fun experience to witness this relay challenge LIVE! We’ll take you through Chef Dhanashri’s ultimate Choco Lava Cake recipe!
Let’s learn how to make this yummy delicacy!
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and lightly dust with cocoa powder or powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
Melt the Chocolate and Butter:
In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped chocolate and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth.
Add Sugar and Eggs:
Whisk the powdered sugar into the melted chocolate mixture until well combined. Add the eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, whisking after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Incorporate Flour:
Add the flour and a pinch of salt to the chocolate mixture. Gently fold until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Pour into Ramekins:
Evenly divide the batter among the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking sheet for easier handling.
Bake:
Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft and slightly jiggly. Do not overbake; the center should be gooey.
Garnish:
In the end, dust with powdered sugar or cocoa powder if desired. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy your rich and gooey Choco Lava Cakes!
