One of India’s best and most loved shows, Kota Factory is all set to return for its second season this month.
Kota Factory, whose first season aired in 2019 is India’s first black and white show which captures the journey of IIT aspirants in Kota. Kota Factory is a story set in Kota, a hub for many coaching centres where students come from all over India to prepare for various entrance exams. It follows the life of 16-year-old Vaibhav who moves to Kota from Itarsi and shows the life of students in the city, and their efforts to get into IIT. It also stars Jitendra Kumar, Ahsaas Channa, Alam Khan and Ranjan Raj in prominent roles.
The show is produced by the House of TVF but unlike the first season the second season of Kota Factory is all set to release on Netflix. In the concluding episode of the first season we saw Vaibhav finally take the leap of faith and shift to Maheshwari classes from Prodigy classes after the pep talk from the beloved Jeetu bhaiya.
The start of the trailer shows Vaibhav dressed in Maheshwari Classes uniform standing alongside other students taking some kind of an oath. While there are a couple of students who are demotivated and confused about why they’re preparing for IIT.
In the teaser released a week before the official trailer, we know that Prodigy too is not in the best phase as Jeetu has left the coaching centre to open his own.
In the trailer we also see a take on menstrual health and awareness. The stats in the trailer speak for themselves to make the world realise what all a student has to go through emotionally, physically and mentally while appearing for an exam. Within all the tsunami of doubts we come across another moving line “sawaal late pucha toh sawaal galat ho jaata hai kya?” (if a question is asked late then does it become the wrong question?). While everything seems chaotic, we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel in the form of Jeetu bhaiya who always knows how to uplift the spirits.
Kota Factory 2 (or Season 2) premiers on 24th September, 2021 on Netflix. In case you haven’t watched the trailer then you can watch it here:
