Navratri, from 15th to 23rd October 2023, is a time to seek the goddesses' blessings through fasting and rituals, offering both religious and scientific benefits.

What grains to eat?

Avoid wheat and rice; choose Kuttu, Singhare, Rajgira, or barnyard millet.

What fruits to eat?

Enjoy all fruits and dry fruits, with a preference for seasonal varieties.

What spices to eat?

Use rock salt, cumin, black pepper, clove; excluding heat-inducing ones like turmeric and garam masala.

What vegetables to eat?

Prioritize fasting-friendly vegetables: potatoes, sweet potatoes, yam, spinach, tomatoes, and more.

Can we eat milk products?

Consume dairy, curd, paneer, ghee, and homemade cottage cheese. Opt for buttermilk and lassi for hydration.

What cooking oil to use?

Avoid seed-based or refined oils; instead, use desi ghee and peanut oil for cooking.

What else is good to eat?

Incorporate makhanas, coconut, coconut Sonth ki Chutney (tamarind chutney), melon seeds, and peanuts.

Can I drink water?
