Navratri, from 15th to 23rd October 2023, is a time to seek the goddesses' blessings through fasting and rituals, offering both religious and scientific benefits.
Avoid wheat and rice; choose Kuttu, Singhare, Rajgira, or barnyard millet.
Enjoy all fruits and dry fruits, with a preference for seasonal varieties.
Use rock salt, cumin, black pepper, clove; excluding heat-inducing ones like turmeric and garam masala.
Prioritize fasting-friendly vegetables: potatoes, sweet potatoes, yam, spinach, tomatoes, and more.
Consume dairy, curd, paneer, ghee, and homemade cottage cheese. Opt for buttermilk and lassi for hydration.
Avoid seed-based or refined oils; instead, use desi ghee and peanut oil for cooking.
Incorporate makhanas, coconut, coconut Sonth ki Chutney (tamarind chutney), melon seeds, and peanuts.
Stay hydrated with plain water, herbal teas, and fruit-infused water during fasting.
Avoid onion, garlic, legumes, lentils, non-veg, alcohol, and aerated drinks. Happy Navratri to everyone fasting!
