Garena had announced that the game would be relaunched in India on September 5th after it was banned by the Indian government.
The Indian government banned Free Fire in February 2022, along with 54 other apps, citing security concerns.
Garena stated that the delay was due to "challenging circumstances" but did not elaborate on what these circumstances were.
They are hard at work, fine-tuning gameplay for maximum excitement and will soon make a big comeback.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the brand ambassador for the game and will be seen as 'Thala,' a playable character.
In the meantime, gamers in India can still play Free Fire MAX, a high-definition version of the game that was launched in October 2022.
