In a recent incident, a man boarding an Air Canada plane from Canada to Dubai jumped unexpectedly before the take-off.
A passenger on an Air Canada flight to Dubai was injured after opening the cabin door and falling onto the tarmac at Toronto Airport.
The incident took place on a Boeing 777 scheduled to depart on the evening of January 8th.
Instead of going to his seat, the passenger opened the cabin door at the opposite end of the plane.
Emergency services and authorities responded immediately to the scene after the passenger fell on the ground.
Toronto airport authority, Peel police, confirmed the man was in a state of crisis and suffered relatively minor injuries.
The police caught the passenger and took him to a nearby hospital for treatment.
However, the flight carrying 319 passengers, was delayed and departed later, around 3 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
The delay was under six hours from the scheduled departure time of 8:35 p.m. ET on Monday.
Air Canada stated that they were juggling with the approved boarding and cabin operating procedures and reviewing the incident.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) is aware of the incident and is working with officials to address the situation.
