School for Scamsters

Nestled amidst the picturesque Aravalli range, a small town has unexpectedly gained notoriety as the epicenter of a thriving cyber fraud industry in India.

Where Is It?

Nuh, located in Haryana between Kota and Delhi, has emerged as a major training ground for fraudsters in India.

The Involved

According to a Hindustan Times report, hundreds of boys and men aged 14-30 are trained in cyber fraud in Nuh.

The School

Students pay fees ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh for these fraudulent courses, and can earn up to ₹76 lakh per month by working six hours a day.

Departments of Scam

The fraudsters in Nuh operate in groups of 10, with various departments such as SIM procurement, finance, strategy, sales closing, and even legal support.

Impersonation

Fraudsters make phone calls to victims while impersonating army personnel, bank representatives, or government officials to gain the trust of their targets.

The Scam

The scammer sends a test link, offering ₹50, which convinces the victim to trust them. They then send another link promising ₹50,000, which removes that amount from the victim's account.

New Hotspot

Nuh has surpassed Jamtara to become the new hotspot for cyber fraud in India, with thousands of suspicious mobile numbers and bank accounts involved.

Control

The existence of this scam underscores the need for enhanced measures to combat cyber fraud and protect potential victims from falling prey to these scams.
