Sony launches the all-new Afeela EV, which provides a glimpse into the future of electric cars, where technology, entertainment, and safety converge seamlessly.
At CES 2024, Sony showcased the Afeela electric car prototype using a PlayStation 5 DualSense controller to symbolise their collaboration with Honda in Sony Honda Mobility.
The car's dashboard uses Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5.3 for impressive 3D graphics, maps, virtual environments, and augmented reality views.
Thanks to its Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities, it handles highway driving and traffic jams, letting drivers relax or do other tasks in certain situations.
It is equipped with 360-degree safety sensors, providing complete awareness of the car's surroundings & reducing the risk of accidents.
Drivers can easily play PlayStation games, watch movies, and listen to music from the car's dashboard, blurring entertainment and transportation.
The Afeela EV is currently being more designed & developed, and Sony plans to release it in 2026.
The official price of the car is yet to be revealed. However, considering the technology and features packed in, it's likely to be on the premium side.
Sony and Honda plan to create more electric vehicles under the Afeela brand, showing a strong dedication to advancing EV technology and entertainment integration.
