YouTube is working towards displaying the user’s uploaded content in a manner that is specifically tailored to each user’s preferences, it aims to increase the number of channel visitors and them getting engaged.
YouTube is currently working to segment each content into its own element on users’ channel pages by creating separate tabs for “Videos,” “Shorts,” and “Live” uploads.
It makes sense for YouTube to offer more ways for users to specifically consume allowing users to scroll through a continuous stream of Shorts only, as Shorts become a more significant part of the YouTube experience.
As you can see in the example given below, “Videos” and “Shorts” each have their own section, and “Live” clips, if a channel has any, will also be broadcast in their own area.
These additional sections may make it simpler to retain viewers, fostering connection and community.
YouTube is also planning to add more personalized features for channel visitors, such as the ability to show content based on a user’s prior viewing behavior (both on your channel and other YouTube channels), topic preferences, or language proficiency.
That relates to channel management as well, and the extra sections may make it simpler to retain viewers, fostering connection and community.
The display of content based on a user’s prior viewing behavior (on your channel and other YouTube channels), topic affinity, or languages they speak are additional personalization features that YouTube is looking to implement for channel visitors.
These updates are important because, while they don’t add anything new per se, they could keep users on your channel longer and increase the likelihood that they will subscribe by better curating it for each one of them based on their preferences.
According to YouTube, all of these changes will be implemented in testing shortly before being fully launched.
