To celebrate the joyful spirit of Diwali, Zara joins forces with the renowned multidisciplinary local artist Jayesh Sachdev to launch a limited-edition capsule collection titled ‘Reverie.’ It was launched in India on 15 October 2024 across womenswear, menswear, kidswear, and accessories in selected stores and on Zara.com.
The project aims to create a sense of wonder and magic that is accessible to all, regardless of their background. The ‘pièce de résistance’ of this collaboration is a 10-foot sculpture of a tiger displayed at our flagship store at Phoenix Palladium, Mumbai as well as special corners in our stores in New Deli, Bangalore, Pune and Gurgaon.
The tiger, as a guardian of this festive dreamscape, symbolizing power, protection, and wild beauty, reminds us of the enduring strength of light and the spirited essence of Diwali. This mystical animal is the motive that weaves through the different pieces that are part of this unique collaboration. It is full of bold, graphic lines enhancing the playful nature and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the celebratory spirit.
The composition is a dynamic mix of shapes—spheres, triangles, and polygons—arranged to evoke the joyous energy of the festival. Each element captures the exuberance and essence of Diwali through a whimsical fusion of geometric shapes and graphic elements like the glow of oil lamps, the sparkle of fireworks, and the beauty of decorative lanterns. Bright hues of gold, crimson, and emerald reflect the festive ambience, imbuing the artwork with warmth and celebration. Bold, graphic lines enhance the playful nature of the piece, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the festive spirit.
“Reverie” is more than an artwork; it is an experience, transporting viewers to a world where light triumphs over darkness and joy fills the air. It further highlights that through frantic and surrealist expression, and only through chaos, arises the inevitability of a new synthesis. Jayesh’s fearless use of bright colours and intricate details attest to his artistic depth and draws us in, inviting us to explore the deeper meaning behind this collaboration.
Another reflection of this collaboration is a capsule collection of t-shirts and sweatshirts for women, men and kids. Meanwhile, the accessory collaboration extends to a tote bag and candle with its patchouli fragrance.
