The OTT world is rapidly growing with new apps, platforms, shows, and seasons. Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, YouTube, and The Viral Fever (TVF) are some of the streaming services that offer entertaining series. For a while, the announcement of popular web series’ new seasons has been constantly creating a buzz on social media, especially the Hindi ones.
Talking about Hindi web series, let’s take a peek a 6 of them and their upcoming seasons:
TVF’s ‘Kota Factory’ featuring Mayur More, Jitendra Kumar, Ahsaas Channa, Alam Khan, and Ranjan Raj is based on student’s life in Kota. Created by Saurabh Khanna and directed by Raghav Subbu, it’s India’s first black-and-white web series. The first season premiered on TVFPlay as well as YouTube. Since its ending on May 14, 2019, with five episodes, netizens have been waiting for its second season, and it’s finally here! On August 6, 2021, Sumit Kadel, Film Critic & Trade Analyst confirmed the launch of its second season this September. But, there’s a catch! It’s going to premiere on Netflix!
Netflix’s ‘Mismatched’ is a rom-com series with six episodes based on Sandhya Menon’s best-selling book ‘When Dimple Met Rishi’. Adapted by Gazal Dhaliwal, it was directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikhari. Ronnie Screwvala‘s RSVP Movies produced it. The story revolves around Rishi Singh Shekhawat, the traditional romance thinker, and Dimple Ahuja, the techie and gamer. The roles of Rishi and Dimple are played by Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli respectively. Apart from them, the other casts in prominent roles are Rannvijay Singha and Vidya Malavade. Just two days ago, the shooting of season 2 resumed as proclaimed by Prajakta and Rohit on Instagram.
TVF’s Girliyapa mini-series ‘The Interns’ starring Revathi Pillai, Rashmi Agdekar, and Ahsaas Channa in lead roles, is about three young interns and their journey while working at Digital Diva. This women-centric show with three episodes was written by Chirag Ratnasingh, Khushbu Baid, Shreyasi Sharma, and Anant Singh Bhaatu. Bhaatu directed it too.
Ahsaas recently posted a picture on Instagram with Rashmi and Revathi, captioned as “Are these the three interns and one saddu boss we saw last year?” Seems like the second season is already on the way! Btw, Rashmi too posted stating “The interns are back and so is their boss!!

Hotstar Specials ‘Aarya’ is Sushmita Sen’s digital debut and is a crime-based nine episodes series. Created by Ram Madhvani and Sandeep Modi, it was directed by Vinod Rawat. Modi had a hand in directing it too. The web series is based on the Dutch series ‘Penoza’ and is produced by Madhvani under Ram Madhvani Films and Endemol Shine Group. The second season of ‘Aarya’ is just set to release as Disney+ Hotstar VIP has already given the green signal!
TVF Originals ‘Pitchers’ consisting of five episodes premiered on TVFPlay and YouTube. Developed by Anurabh Kumar and written by Biswapati Sarkar, it narrates the story of four friends, Naveen, Jitu, Yogi, and Saurabh who quit their jobs to develop their own start-up company. Under the direction of Amit Golani, the first season ended on August 30, 2015. The series features Naveen Kasturia, Arunabh Kumar, Jitendra Kumar, and Abhay Mahajan in lead roles. Season 2 of ‘Pitchers’ is the most-awaited and fans can’t keep their calm! But the twist is that it’s going to premiere on Zee5!
TVF’s ‘Aspirants’ presented by Unacademy revolves around the past and present of three friends who are UPSC aspirants, Abhilash, Guri, and SK. Created by Anurabh Kumar and Shreyansh Pandey, it was penned down by Deepesh Sumitra Jagdish. With Apoorv Singh Karki as the Director, the series stars Naveen Kasturia, Shivankit Parihar, Abhilash Thapliyal, Namita Dubey, and Sunny Hinduja. The five-episode series aired on TVFPlay and YouTube from April 7 to May 8, 2021. Even though it recently ended, fans are already hopping for its second season.
