Lakmé Fashion Week 2026, which took place from March 19 to 22 in Mumbai, was not just about couture and celebrity showstoppers. This year, creators are a force to be reckoned with, effortlessly merging digital influence with high fashion and injecting freshness and relatability to the proceedings.

While Lakmé Fashion Week 2026 continued to showcase iconic designers like Manish Malhotra, Amit Aggarwal, and Aisha Rao, it also reflected how the fashion world is changing and how creators are becoming an integral part of the proceedings.

How Creators Walked In Style

Not only did creators take to the ramp, but they also captured behind-the-scenes moments from Lakmé Fashion Week 2026.

While Larissa D’Sa’s signature style was seen as she walked the ramp for JAJAABOR, presenting the Kolkata look, she also brought her unique personality to the proceedings as she walked for Satya Paul, as did Sukmani Gambhir.

Another noteworthy appearance was made by Ankush Bahuguna as he walked the runway for Line Outline, further emphasizing the point that creators are now becoming part of designer shows rather than just being part of the audience.

Another creator, Ruhi Dosani, was spotted at the event as part of the NEXA Experience, looking stunning in her vibrant, fringed ensemble, perfectly embodying the playful vibe of the event. However, Shweta Mahadik took a more hands-on approach to the event, documenting her experience with a fun “Fashion Week Bingo” to give her audience something new and interesting to do.

Creators Expanding The Fashion Conversation

While the runway saw many creators, there were also several others who played their part in determining the conversation surrounding the event. One such individual was Moses Koul, spotted at the L’Atelier 1664 showcasing Abraham & Thakore, while creators like Prableen Kaur Bhomrah and Shubhra Vaity embodied the more subtle, “quiet luxury” aesthetic.

The buzz surrounding Lakmé Fashion Week was also amplified by digital creators like Aashna Hegde and Manav Chhabra, who attended the shows and gave their point of view, taking the Lakmé Fashion Week conversation far beyond the confines of the event itself.

A Change In The Fashion Week Experience?

What has been noticeable this year, however, has been the fact that the role of creators has evolved beyond being mere attendees. Instead, they have become storytellers and, in many ways, the bridge between designers and their audiences.

Their ability to tell a story in real time, to decode trends in a manner that relates to their audiences, and to add their own perspective to the world of fashion has given Lakme Fashion Week a new dimension.

Lakme Fashion Week 2026 has been about much more than what walked down the runway. It has also been about how what walked down the runway has been seen, shared, and remembered.

And this has been possible thanks to the presence of creators, who have made the runway no longer limited to the runway.

I’ve been passionately chronicling the worlds of entertainment and lifestyle for more than 10 years, which means I've spent roughly 3,650 days shuffling between drama and crippling deadlines (and usually, the deadlines win). There’s truly not a day I can imagine doing anything else. I just really love having an excuse to call reading celebrity/creator happenings "research."
