7 Years Later Atif Aslam Will Sing For Bollywood Again, Pakistani Singer Makes A Comeback

In 2016, our country suffered a major loss with the Uri terror attack. The rage resulted in a ban on Pakistani artists working in India. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) made the resolution that they will not work with Pakistani artists after they cited “security” and “patriotism” as some of the reasons to not allow cross-border talent to perform in India and vice-versa.

The ban resulted in artists like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ali Zafar, and many musicians like Atif Aslam, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan not being able to participate in the Indian entertainment industry. But their fans have always felt their beloved artists’ absence. Recently, the ban had been called “a retrograde step in promoting cultural harmony, unity, and peace”. The Bombay High Court ruled in favour of cross-border cultural exchange and said that this petition has “no merit in it”.

And thanks to this ruling, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam is all set to make his Bollywood return after seven long years. Known for his soul-stirring melodies, the artist has successfully navigated the restrictions that kept him away. Atif has collaborated with Love Story of 90s helmed by Amit Kasaria. The news of his comeback has caused a wave of excitement amongst his Indian fans who now wish to see more Pakistani artists in 2024.

The New Project

Atif Aslam, who has belted several hit Bollywood tracks, is making a comeback by rendering his soulful voice for the movie Love Story of the 90s (LSO90s). The film features Adhyayan Suman and Miss Universe Diva Divita Rai in the lead roles. The makers of the film also revealed that the song is touted to be a romantic number, coinciding the title of the film.

According to a report by Box Office Worldwide, Haresh Sangani and Dharmesh Sangani, producers and distributors of LSO90s, said, “It is a very reassuring thing for Atif Aslam to make a comeback after 7-8 years. We are very happy because she has sung the first song in our film ‘Love Story of 90s. Atif Aslam’s fans will be very thrilled. He is going to make a comeback in Bollywood through our film.

The song is a delight for the audience and is poised to be a hit in 2024. It’s a harmonious blend of visuals, lyrics  and music. He has only sung one song in the flick; but we are considering creating another track with him” mention the producers.

The producers have chosen the renowned Pakistani singer-songwriter to be one of the singers as they believe that music should not be bound by geographical boundaries and Atif Aslam’s musical compositions are widely distinguished.

“It was a challenge to bring Atif Aslam on board as he focuses on the  storyline and the ensemble of the cast. We disclosed all the particulars to him. He was really impressed and prepared to lend his voice to the film’s song. It’s a moment of pride and joy for us” state the Sangani brothers.

Apart from Atif Aslam, they have several other top singers like Udit Narayan, Amit Mishra involved in the project. Aman Trikhaji has sung a magnificent song dedicated to Ganpati Bappa. “On behalf of the entire production house, we extend our gratitude to all the singers. We are anticipating that the album of our movie will be the finest of 2024” added the producer-duo.

Atif: The Musical Maestro

Within a mere decade, Atif successfully carved out a niche for himself in Bollywood, competing head-to-head with other top singers of his time. In 2008, he recorded three versions of Pehli Nazar Mein from Race and Bakhuda Tumhi Ho from Kismat Konnection.

In the subsequent year, Atif Aslam sang Tu Jaane Na and Tera Hone Laga Hoon for the film Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, including various remix versions of both the songs which fetched him several nominations.

His song Jeena Jeena from the film Badlapur topped the various charts and was one of the biggest hits of 2015, which also got him a nomination for the best playback singer. In 2017, the song Dil Diyan Galla from Tiger Zinda Hai captivated the audience.

We really look forward to be serenaded by Atif Aslam real soon. And this time, for a long long time to come.
