One of the Internet’s favourite shows, “Be A Man, Yaar!” is back with a second season featuring a star-studded lineup of celebrities and digital creators. Join the dynamic host and Chief of We Are Yuvaa Nikhil Taneja, as he dives into raw and unfiltered conversations with men from diverse fields.
This season is set to witness the breakdown of traditional masculinity and explore their vulnerabilities, and what it means to be a man in today’s world. For the latest episode, he bagged the charismatic YouTuber and comedian, Bhuvan Bam! Buckle up as this side of BB was something we surely craved!
Starting heavy, Bhuvan shared a touching story about his father’s addiction to alcohol. He observed, “Alcohol ne bahut families barbaad kar di.” His father’s drinking worsened with age and BB Ki Vines‘ success. Despite hoping for a stop, it only ceased after a brain stroke.
Bhuvan recalled, “Wo uthe hi nahi… we assumed alcohol was the reason.” Post-surgery, his father lived with one side of his skull removed, which led to some humorous yet heartbreaking moments. This experience deeply influenced Bhuvan’s decision to avoid alcohol too.
Bhuvan Bam speaks on how his relationship with his older brother, Aman Bam strengthened after their father’s accident. Initially, a four-year age gap caused them discomfort and a lack of understanding. However, post the accident, where his brother was bedridden for nearly two years due to a severe knee injury, their bond fortunately grew.
Through that 2 year phase when all his brother’s friends were in the Aviation industry, BB supported and got his brother through frustrations, as he struggled to return to his pilot training. He also emphasized the importance of expressing love, stating, “Without saying love you, we don’t cut the call.”
Bhuvan discusses how his friendships, forged during school and lasting over 22-23 years, have been a significant source of support. Despite the challenging situations at home, he never confided in his friends, fearing it would dampen their mood. Unaware of his family issues, his school friends remained his constant support system. He also roots, “Sirf wohi dostiyaan tikkti hain, jinke saath aapne life ki sabse bewakoof chhezein kari hain.“
Nikhil questioned him playfully, “Do you face rejections?” Bhuvan smirked saying, “Yes, parso hi kiya!” He emphasizes that staying grounded comes from both values and facing numerous rejections. Despite achieving so much fame, he still faces rejection and understands it is an inherent part of the journey. He explains the hierarchy system in the industry, where opportunities come only after the initial choices decline them.
He feels it’s important to actively seek opportunities rather than expecting them to come automatically. Bhuvan rejects the notion that the struggle ever ends, emphasizing continuous effort is needed to remain relevant and successful.
Bhuvan reflects on his journey of overcoming his ego and proving his worth through persistent efforts. He attributes his humility to the struggles and setbacks he’s experienced, which have shaped his perspective. Bhuvan stresses the importance of trying relentlessly, which resulted in “Dhindora” showcasing his versatility in acting beyond comedy.
Further, he flourished in new opportunities, like starring in “Taaza Khabar,” underscoring his always-ready behaviour to evolve & grow. Moreover, he credits his decision to establish BB Ki Vines Productions as pivotal, enabling him to reject superficial scripts and pursue meaningful projects that match his creative vision.
For those of you who don’t know, Bhuvan has been in a stable serious relationship since school. He met his now girlfriend in 4th standard and started dating in 10th standard. The YouTuber expressed how she has always been by his side and he can always share the good and the bad in life with her. This conversation is a masterclass for young adults who are stuck in the various iterations of love and relationships.
“Aajkal saath bade nahi hote hain log. Bohot accessibility ho gayi hain ab. Har cheez available hain. You know you will find someone. To be with each other when you are at your lowest. I think waha par sabka breaking point aa jata hain. You need to look beyond. That sense of losing someone na, that’s love!” He urges this generation to find “imperfect” love.
If today’s Bhuvan had to advice his 16-year-old something, he would say, “Galtiya karta reh. Dusro ki galtiyo se seekh. Dusro ki achievements dekh ke inspire ho, but unko copy maat kar.” He humorously said, “I laugh at the mistakes when looked back upon years later.”
Bhuvan stresses the need to limit internet usage, cautioning that being turned into a meme even once can have lasting effects. Despite youthful foolishness being expected, he recommends focusing on personal development. Bhuvan concludes by promising his younger self unwavering support.
Nikhil shows massive respect and love for Bhuvan Bam, saying he’s got fans who genuinely adore and pray for him. He and the whole country are backing Bhuvan, believing his dreams are bound to come true. Have you watched the full episode yet? Go watch it now!
