A Look At Some Of The Celebrity Beauty Brands We Love

In recent years, you must have witnessed a wave of entrepreneurship hit the global film industry. Actors went from featuring in brand advertisements and being brand ambassadors to starting their own businesses. There seems to be a new celebrity brand popping up every month!

The brands are not only an extension of the celebrities’ aesthetics and beliefs, but they are also high-performing. The beauty and skincare industry has predominantly witnessed the most interest from celebrities. We have seen a range of high-end celebrity brands launch in the last few years.

Let’s take you through some celebrity-led brands that we find cute and authentic:

LolaVie by Jennifer Anniston

Since launching her hair care brand LolaVie, Jennifer Aniston has been slowly rolling out a range of products that have become cult favourites. From the ‘Glossing Detangler‘ to the ‘Perfecting Leave-In‘, the brand’s products are perfectly curated. Aniston’s choice to debut with just one product (the detangler) was a bold one.

LolaVie doesn’t spoil you with options. Instead, every product serves a distinct purpose. Jennifer just launched a new addition to the hair care range – the Sculpting Paste. We’ve been working on this for more than a year. It’s the final step in the hair routine — the last product you should use before you’re heading out the door,” said Aniston. The medium-hold paste is meant to sculpt and style the hair and it works wonders.

Papatui by Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson wants men to prioritize self-care more. That’s when he created an affordable personal-care brand for men, Papatui, with products under $10. The brand is a nod to his Samoan heritage and includes all things skincare, from a tattoo balm to bath and body products. Johnson’s go-to product for the gym is the 48-hour antiperspirant that comes in a Cedar Sport and Lush Coconut scent.

Dwayne said, “So many times I would say, ‘Dude, why are we whispering [about skincare]? It’s okay. We should be able to have this open conversation.’ Papatui has allowed me to encourage just a more open, greater conversation about skincare and grooming.” The brand was designed with the intention for men, but every product is actually unisex.

Orebella by Bella Hadid

The supermodel and entrepreneur’s beauty brand, Ôrebella, was trademarked in 2022 to include scented products for the home, hair and body, with ‘skin-nourishing fragrances’. The scents named Window2Soul, Salted Muse, and Blooming Fire are centred on floral, woody, and tropical notes, respectively. With the brand’s tagline being ‘Reveal your alchemy,’ we could expect more than fragrances in the line.

I have been, and will always be, a natural scent, pheromone or essential oil kind of girl. I think essential oils not only bring out the natural scent of you, but can add calmness and a sense of uniqueness to your day,” said Bella Hadid.

Ôrebella’s formulas are unique – they’re the first nonalcoholic biphase perfumes. You have to shake to activate the crystal-shaped bottles combining the oil and fragrance layers. Bella wanted to bring something to market that people hadn’t seen before.

Wyn Beauty by Serena Williams

Serena Williams launched her own makeup line called Wyn Beauty in April 2024. It was created with the goal of making cosmetics that ‘you can move in,’ which is a fitting brand philosophy for an athlete like herself. The brand offers ten products for the eyes, lips, and face.

From a skin tint, concealer, and multi-use cheek and lip pigment, to mascara, brow pencil, liquid eyeliner, pencil eyeliner, matte lipstick, lip serum, and stain lipstick, Wyn has it all! You can shop the brand via the website and Ulta Beauty.

Serena is also the founder of the body-care brand ‘Will Perform‘. Wyn, the ‘active beauty‘ makeup brand was already in the works when she was winning grand slams. Six years and many reformulations later, Wyn Beauty is finally on shelves with people loving the products.

82°E by Deepika Padukone

Launched in 2022 and with a name inspired by 82°30′ East, the standard meridian that passes through India, everything about Deepika Padukone‘s brand highlights homegrown. At 82°E, they amalgamate the use of traditional herbal ingredients with modern science to create high-performance products.

Our range of skincare products have been rigorously sourced, carefully crafted and clinically tested so you can build simple, joyful and effective everyday rituals to care for the health of your skin,” says co-founder Deepika.

On the occasion of the beauty brand completing a year in January 2024, it has now ventured into the body care segment by launching 4 new products. The brand’s “cleanse-hydrate-protect” philosophy is followed under this new range as well. The ‘Body Care’ by 82E range features

  • Gel Body Cleanser with Apple and Panthenol,
  • Body Milk SPF 20 PA++ with Coconut and Ceramides,
  • Creme Body Cleanser with Moringa and Panthenol, and
  • Body Lotion SPF 20 PA++ with Saffron and Ceramides

LoveChild by Masaba

Here’s another homegrown brand by a desi celeb – LoveChild by Masaba. Launched last year with a major publicity blitz, Masaba Gupta‘s beauty brand gained attention for its hybrid formulations, affordability and playful branding. Its initial offerings included a mix of lipsticks and kajal, nail paints, a niacinamide-infused face mist and intimate wipes, among other products.

Behind these attractions are functional, solution-driven products — concealers tailormade for Indian complexions, highlighters infused with hyaluronic acid for a dose of hydration, lipsticks that last hours but also keep lips moisturised and more. Each product has a skincare component to it. Masaba emphasises on rigorous quality checks. Over the past year, the brand has expanded its product range to offer blushes, highlighter palettes, sunscreen and new lipstick variants.

We definitely love that so many celebrities have turned entrepreneurs in the beauty space, but it’s important to remember that what works for a celebrity might not work for you. And that’s okay! It’s all about finding what suits your skin and makes you feel great. Picking the right beauty product isn’t just about who’s on the label; it’s about what’s in the bottle and how well it works for you.
