The invite-only, audio, iOS app ‘Clubhouse‘, which came to life thanks to a slew of well-known users, has launched a limited beta for Android users in the United States. The Apple version was released a year ago and quickly became popular, though it has been competitive in recent days due to Instagram’s changes to Live sessions and Facebook’s experimentation with Hotline. Twitter’s access, moreover, to Spaces for all users was also extended.
Clubhouse is ready to change the game again with its Android version which will soon be launched in other English-speaking countries, and eventually the rest of the world.
This announcement was made on the 9th of May, ‘21 on the Clubhouse Blogging Website by Paul, Rohan and the Clubhouse team.
After talking a bit about Clubhouse and the communities users formed through the platform, the blog read, “Today, we are thrilled to share that Clubhouse for Android will start rolling out in beta immediately. We will begin gradually, with the U.S. today, followed by other English-speaking countries and then the rest of the world. Our plan over the next few weeks is to collect feedback from the community, fix any issues we see and work to add a few final features like payments and club creation before rolling it out more broadly. If you are an Android user, you can download Clubhouse for Android and sign up now to be alerted once it’s available in your area”.
They further added, “With Android, we believe that Clubhouse will feel more complete. We are so grateful to all of the Android users out there for their patience. Whether you are a creator, a club organizer, or someone who just wants to explore, we are so excited to welcome you to the community 🙂”.
Android users outside of the U.S. can pre-register to the app and start using it once it’s available in their irrespective countries.
