For our 17th episode, we had one of the emerging creators, Dhiraj Sanap, giving us a peek into his dating life, collaborations, and strategies to go viral in the content creation game.
Following with the previous engaging episode with the CEO of Zoning Out, Yashashree Rao, this week features the aspiring film producer, soon-to-be actor, and comic content creator, Dhiraj Sanap! In this episode, we’ll explore Dhiraj’s personal and professional life, including his dating tales, collaborations, manifestations, and secret sauce to his viral reels. Did you know being a content creator or Instagram influencer was never part of his plan? Surprising right? Let’s discover more of Dhiraj’s private affairs.
Our first question rolled out was, why do you go dates on every other Instagram reel of yours? “I mean, I’ve been on dates, but honestly, it’s been so long that I don’t even remember the last time I went out,” Dhiraj said. Further, we also asked him whether his friends potentially call him by any tag? “Yes, they call me love guru. They ask for advice on their relationships. But, I end up creating content based on their life problems and relationship scenes,” he added.
Called out as a ‘love guru’, we asked him what advice would you give our audience on dating life? Dhiraj expressed, “Toh dekho khush ho toh khush raho, aur single ho toh enjoy karo.”
“Now, when it comes to relationships, not much is happening lately. Abhi toh kaafi jyada kaam hi chal raha hai, so I think when it’s meant to happen, it will,” Dhiraj said.
As we all know Dhiraj is no loner, he has got a boy clan with him who are also emerging content creators. But how did it happen? “Main, Omkar, Aditya aur Sumeet hum chaaro college friends hai. Ek din aisa hua ki we were partying till 6:00-7:00 am. Omkar said, “Yaar ye naya Reels wala feature aaya hai,” on Instagram and my account was private at the time. But we shot some content and it was liked by our friends. So, we decided to open an account and started posting together.”
“I still remember there was a brand that reached out to me, asking how much I charge for a reel. I thought, yaar INR 3,000 bol deta hoon pura month nikal jayega, since my daily expenses were around that. But they offered me INR 14,000! I was like mera toh pura saal nikal jayega isme!” Dhiraj said with excitement.
Dhiraj said, “Back then, I never wrote down my content; it was all in my head. Now, the process of creating with friends is different, and it’s tough to find relatable content. But the connection with my audience is important.”
Going forward we even asked Dhiraj how it feels to create content with female creators and do you remember when was the first time you made it? “I didn’t collaborate with any female creators until I hit 100,000 followers. I needed someone for content, so after watching Suku’s (Sakshi Keswani) videos, I reached out to her. We filmed a couple of videos together, and they went viral,” Dhiraj said.
“I still remember, the first video we did in my college was about a guy who never graduates from college and eventually has Suku’s daughter studying aside him in the college. It was memorable!” he added.
Dhiraj spoke about his experiences in the entertainment industry, mentioning his admiration for actors and content creators like Vicky Kaushal, Karthik Aryan, Akshay Kumar, Be YouNick, and Mumbaikar Nikhil. He shared a mantra that resonates with him: “Apne all ko Plan A mein lagao aur backup plan maat rakho.”
Reflecting on his first celebrity encounters, he mentioned meeting the gems of Bollywood, Manoj Bajpayee & Sanjay Mishra, and how inspiring those interactions were. He also hinted at an exciting milestone in his career: signing a movie deal, although he couldn’t reveal too many details yet.
Looking ahead, Dhiraj’s ultimate goal is to build his own production house, produce films, and act in them. He highlights, “Mujhe khud ka production house banana hai“, leveraging his background in mass media (BMM). When asked about his ideal co-star, he playfully mentioned Janhvi Kapoor.
