A look at how digital creators paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary Lata Mangeshkar

As India bids farewell to the Nightingale of the nation, the country mourns the death of the beloved singer. Her singing moved each soul and will continue to do so. She has recorded more than a thousand songs in almost 36 languages and was unstoppable, sans doubt.

As a mark of respect, the Indian Government directed two days of national mourning for the late Lata Didi. India’s Ministry of Home Affairs announced that the national flag will be flown at half-staff from Sunday through Monday.

Lakhs of people attended the funeral ceremony in Mumbai to catch one last glimpse of the maestro. From Bollywood actors, Indian politicians to various athletes, everyone is moved by this sudden demise. Social media was abuzz with the news and everyone assembled to pay tribute to the voice that redefined the Indian music industry.

Digital creators too partook and created an unfeigned remembrance for the late Lata Mangeshkar. Through sketches, illustrations, simple writing, or a poetic verse, the creator’s bared it all for the singer who lives in our hearts forever.

Here’s how the digital creators paid tribute and grieved Lata Mangeshkar demise:

Avanti Nagral

Being a singer, Avanti posted a reel singing with her dad. One of the great and most remembered songs of Lata Didi – Lag Ja Gale playing in the background. Avanti expressed her sorrow captioning the reel, “Lataji you were truly the voice of a generation.”

Kusha Kapila

The digital creator who mainly creates funny and relatable content, also posted a story with the song Luka Chuppi by the great Lata Mangeshkar. Kusha also wrote a big note on her story in which she mentions how Lata Didi’s voice made the seniors in her family cry and the waterworks just turn on now that we’ve all grown up to attach a feeling.

Pixoury

This growing digital creator mostly posts creative videos. They created a very pleasing illustration of the late singer and had the song Ajib Dastan Hai Yeh play in the background and mentioned it the “End of an era”, which we all agree, don’t we?

Thatmusicproject

Abhay Arora, the founder of @thatmusicproject pays a musical tribute to the legendary singer. Some of the songs that he featured in this edition of his post were – Lag ja gale, Luka chuppi, Piya tose naina lage, Mera saya saath hoga, and many more of her songs.

They made a very soothing video edit of Lata Didi with pretty trendy audio on social media, captioning it “gone but never forgotten.”
