On a night filled with unforgettable moments and remarkable achievements, the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards shone a spotlight on two standout shows: FX’s groundbreaking “Shogun” and the beloved “Hacks.” Both series captivated viewers with their outstanding performances, but it was Shogun who took the lead, making headlines with an astonishing 18 award wins. This historic accomplishment not only set a new record for the Emmys but also highlighted the incredible talent involved in the series, with performances that left a lasting impression throughout the evening.

Along with Sanada, Sawai expressed her heart out saying, “A heartfelt thank you for recognizing me alongside my fellow nominees, whose work I grew up watching and deeply admire. I’m incredibly grateful to John and the entire FX team for believing in our story. Justin and Rachel, thank you for believing in me and giving me the role of a lifetime. To every single crew, especially Hiro, thank you for your support.

Shogun Stole The Show But…

Shogun set a historical milestone, but FX’s “The Bear” returned to compete again, achieving four wins, including Jeremy Allen White‘s second consecutive Best Actor in a Comedy award. The show also took home Best Supporting Actor won by Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Best Supporting Actress by Liza Colón-Zayas, who also made history as the first Latina to win in the category.

Colón-Zayas gave one of the evening’s most heartfelt speeches, sharing, “To all the Latinas who are looking at me—keep believing and vote.” Grateful for the honor, she expressed disbelief at winning alongside icons like Meryl Streep and Carol Burnett.

The Schitt’s Creek family reunion at the 2024 Emmys was everything we needed and more—like a warm hug from an old friend! As the cast came together, it was pure magic.
