When it comes to keeping conversations private, is a concern for everyone and people now believe in keeping their information and data safe. The updated new features on Facebook messenger are upgrades to the same.
Some of the features you would love in Messenger are now available in end-to-end encrypted chats, according to Mark Zuckerberg, including:
Chat themes: To help you personalize and improve your conversations in end-to-end encrypted chats, we’ve added chat themes. Frustrated by a dull background? Want to demonstrate your Swiftie expertise with the Midnights theme right away? For end-to-end encrypted chats, you may now specify themes, including static color and gradient themes.
Use custom chat emoticons: In end-to-end encrypted chats, you can access the complete selection of emoji reactions and personalize the rapid reaction tray.
Group profile pictures: Select group profile pictures for various conversations with friends or coworkers.
Link previews: For end-to-end encrypted chats, we have rewritten link previews so that you can see where a link is leading before clicking on it.
Active status: Let others know when you’re available so they can call you at the right moment by indicating your “active status.” If you wish to increase your privacy, you can also decide to disable this option.
Bubbles for Android: While using other apps, Bubbles (a circle with your friend’s picture inside) allows you to read and respond to messages. When activated, a bubble will show up whenever a new message arrives.
Additionally, they have begun gradually expanding testing of Messenger’s standard end-to-end encryption. With individuals looking for a place to connect and the assurance that their interactions would be kept private, secure, and confidential. For this reason, they invested time in assembling a group of gifted engineers, cryptologists, designers, and policy experts who are all dedicated to implementing end-to-end encryption as the default on Messenger.
More people will gradually start to notice over the coming months that some of their chats have been enhanced with an additional layer of security provided by end-to-end encryption.
“We will notify people in these individual chat threads as they are upgraded. We know people will have questions about how we select and upgrade individual threads, so we wanted to make it clear that this is a random process. It’s designed to be random so that there isn’t a negative impact on our infrastructure and people’s chat experience. This also ensures our new end-to-end encrypted threads continue to give people the fast, reliable and rich experience on Messenger.”, they mentioned in the Meta blog.
Careful testing is necessary in order to create a secure and robust end-to-end encrypted service for the billions of messages delivered on Messenger every day.
