Fictional Boy Band “August Moon” From “Idea Of You” Makes It To Billboard Charts

The era of rom-coms is back! Prime Video‘s “The Idea Of You” starring the iconic Anne Hathaway and gorgeous Nicholas Galitzine has been getting glorious reviews. Everyone is loving their chemistry, romance, and more so it’s music. The fictional boy band in the show “August Moon” has a separate fanbase now called the “Moonheads!” So much so that it has debuted on the Billboard charts.

The five-piece boy band features Raymond Cham as Oliver, Vik White as Simon, Nicholas Galitzine as Hayes Campbell, Dakota Adan as Rory, and Jaiden Anthony as Adrian. Nicholas has actually lent his voice to the movie’s soundtrack. “August Moon is a global sensation in Anne Hathaway’s new rom-com ‘The Idea of You.’ Now, the fictional boy band is officially a Billboard-charting act,” Billboard wrote on their Instagram.

The fictional band “August Moon” has made quite an impression beyond the movie screen, officially breaking into the music scene with their debut on Billboard’s charts. The film’s soundtrack, sung by the band members in the film, made it to the Billboard charts on May 18. It debuted at No. 7 on the Heatseekers Albums chart and No. 11 on the Soundtracks chart, garnering 5,000 equivalent album units in the United States from May 3 to May 9, according to a Billboard report.

This week, the soundtrack was placed at No. 10 and eventually at No. 18. It also received the No. 35 spot on the Emerging Artists chart on May 18. The 11-track album includes seven original recordings, acoustic versions and remixes. August Moon’s hit song in the film “Dance Before We Walk” has garnered 2.6 million on-demand official streams in the US till May 16.

The Movie Plot

Based on Robinne Lee’s bestselling novel of the same name, “The Idea of You” centers on the coming-of-age story of Solène Marchand (Anne Hathaway), a 40-year-old mother. She sparks a romance with Hayes Campbell (Nicholas Galitzine), the 24-year-old lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet “August Moon.”

The pair have a meet-cute at Coachella and find their way back to each other after the festival. They end up having a globetrotting romance until Hayes’ superstar status poses unavoidable challenges to their relationship. While the story is based on a fan fiction, people have been relating the boy band to One Direction and the lead singer to Harry Styles.
