In August 2016, Instagram launched Instagram Stories, a feature that allows users to take photos or videos(15 seconds long), add effects and layers, and add them to their Instagram story. Images and videos uploaded to a user’s story expire after 24 hours. Over the years Instagram has built on its Stories feature by introducing Tags, Music, GIFs, Hashtags, Stickers and also the option to repost a tagged story back on the profile. Instagram even added live video functionality to Instagram Stories, allowing users to broadcast themselves live.
Stories are key in displaying short information relevant to a certain time period but once a story is put up one cannot make any changes to it if there is a mistake. Often organisations who market themselves using Instagram stories, need to make their stories look aesthetic and work on multiple drafts than just a single one. Observing the need of the hour, Instagram is now working on Story Drafts, which will allow users to make stories and save them as a draft to be uploaded later. Alessandro Paluzzi, a popular app developer on his twitter shared what Story Drafts will look like.
Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram even confirmed the news for the same.
It can be seen that an Instagram Story under Story Drafts will expire after 7 days after which users won’t be able to access it. However it is not known whether there will be an option to schedule the drafted story too.
