Globally the most used photo sharing app, Instagram has announced that it will now let its users add up to four pronouns on their profiles.
As per reports, the feature is already available in a few countries with ‘plans for more’. When the feature is available in the region, users will be able to see a new ‘Pronoun’s’ tab under the ‘Edit Profile’ section. The feature is Instagram’s way of making things easy for its users to express themselves. It is also the app’s way of standing together with the LGBTQ community.
Vishal Shah, VP of Product at Instagram, in his tweet says: “Now you can add pronouns to your profile with a new field. It’s another way to express yourself on Instagram and we’ve seen a lot of people adding pronouns already, so hopefully this makes it even easier. Available in a few countries today with plans for more.”
In their recent tweet Instagram even shared what adding pronouns to profile will look like:
Instagram has said that it will continue to update the list of terms over time so that more people around the world can share their pronouns easily. From all that there is to know this feature is a revolutionary step in the right direction and is worthy of community support.
