After a three-month-long battle in Cape Town, Dino James was announced as the winner of the most loved adventure series, Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 13 on Saturday. Arjit Taneja was the first runner-up and Aishwarya Sharma was declared the second runner-up while Shiv Thakare and Rashmeet Kaur made it to the Top 5. The rapper beat them with his consistent performance to take home the trophy, Rs. 20 lakh cash prize, and a car!
This year’s contestants gathered in for an enjoyable evening on the grand finale of the Rohit Shetty-hosted adventure reality show. Apart from showcasing the final task, a few of the participants also took to the stage to perform some dance numbers. Dino James presented an original rap song encapsulating his journey on the show. Being an ace performer throughout the show, he was also appreciated by Rohit Shetty for being fearless not only while performing stunts, but also whenever he had to voice his opinions.
Dino James who rose to fame with his song Loser, spoke about his glorious victory in a statement, “Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 came into my life as a blessing and I am grateful to have had such an amazing time on this iconic show. I value the appreciation I got from Rohit sir and the opportunity to be bigger than my fears. I never imagined I had the capacity to become this evolved version of myself. The friendships I formed on this show were totally unexpected but precious. I dedicate my victory to my fans, who have been super supportive, and I am touched that their love has come my way in abundance.”
The daredevil himself, Rohit Shetty applauded Dino’s performance throughout the season. He said, “Each year, we harness our creative energies in crafting unprecedented and innovative challenges for our contestants and spiking up the fear factor of the show. In this edition, every participant showed courage in the most unexpected moments. Congratulations to Dino James for not only winning the trophy but also for winning viewers’ hearts. I believe he is the most genuine and fearless contestant we have had this season. This edition would not have been a success without our base of ardent fans and viewers. I thank them for their constant love and support.”
Dino had confessed that he had said “no” to Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 when it was first offered to him. But when a lot of people around him said that it would be his kind of show, he finally got convinced and said yes. The singer added that he had never watched the show and expected it to be a ‘negative space’. He felt reality shows would be all about fighting and drama.
“But when I reached there, I realised it was so different. It has been an amazing journey. I think I made it seem difficult in my head. The team and the cast were so welcoming. It was a seamless experience. Because I haven’t been part of Indian television, I didn’t know how it would work but I came back with some amazing memories and friends.”
When asked, if not him, who would he pick as winners he said “If not me, I would have loved to see Shiv Thakare or Arjit Taneja lifting the trophy. Others also did well like Nyra, Aishwarya or Archana; they all performed great on the show. But as I am close to Shiv and Arjit I would have felt really nice.” He did not anticipate winning at all, in fact, he thought he would be the first one to get eliminated. When it came to the stunts, Dino was most scared of the shock stunts. He struggled when it came to such stunts but ultimately powered through them to emerge as the winner of Season 13.
Apart from Dino James, this season of Khatron Ke Khiladi featured Anjali Anand, Anjum Fakih, Archana Gautam, Arjit Taneja, Daisy Shah, Nyra Banerjee, Rashmeet Kaur, Rohit Roy, Ruhi Chaturvedi, Sheezan Khan, Shiv Thakare, Aishwarya Sharma, and Soundous Moufakir. After the adventurous journey Khatron Ke Khiladi 13 took us on since July 15, the show was replaced by Bigg Boss 17 over the weekend.
The grand finale and the whole of the 13th season took the entertainment quotient a notch higher with adrenaline-inducing stunts, glamour, games, performances and hilarious moments. And now Bigg Boss is back to beguile the audience.
