Welcome to the Year of Lisa Mishra, a wild ride of musical magic and acting prowess! From dropping her debut album that had us all singing along to her stunning acting debut in “Call Me Bae“, Lisa is truly on fire. And guess what? She’s already lined up for her next acting gig in “The Royals” on Netflix!
But that’s not all! Get ready to catch her rocking the stage at major festivals like Lollapalooza in 2025 and Gully Fest on October 26-27, 2024. With all this excitement, one thing is clear it’s Lisa Mishra’s world, and we’re just living in it!
Lisa is making waves in the music industry with her debut album, Sorry I’m Late. The album instantly captured the hearts of fans & critics alike. With chart-topping tracks & fresh beats, the album has left its mark as one of the most exciting i-pop artists to watch.
In a candid chat with Lisa, we asked her how she felt about dropping her debut album, “Working on my music album Sorry I’m Late while filming the show was exhausting, but it was worth it. The album is deeply personal, filled with songs about love, loss, and redemption, and I poured every bit of myself into the project.
I’ve loved collaborating with artists like Kr$na & creating a space where I could compose, write, & direct my music videos. Recently, I performed my songs LIVE, and hearing the crowd sing along has been a dream come true!“
Not the one to be satisfied with just owning the music scene, Lisa Mishra took on her first acting challenge with Call Me Bae, showing off her versatility in a big way. In the series, she stepped into the role of Harleen Babbar, giving fans a sneak peek into her acting prowess.
We really enjoyed her role in Call Me Bae, so we asked her about her first day on set. “My first day on set was nerve-wracking. I had a quick 10-minute scene with Ananya Panday, and even though I was nervous, I had to remain calm & intense for the role. After shooting, I felt like I nailed it, but my manager quickly grounded me! My band of friends, the “Chaos Cartel” – including my sister, flatmate Elixir, bestie Richa, and others, have been my rock throughout,” Lisa expressed.
And the momentum isn’t slowing down. Following her acting debut, Lisa gave us a sneak peek into her new role in Netflix’s upcoming series “The Royals” (screaming internally). The buzz around this project is already huge, and fans can’t wait to see how she’ll slay on screen, once again!
Lisa expressed her feelings about working with big stars, “Regarding my role in ‘The Royals’, I had little acting experience compared to the likes of Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ishaan Khatter. Every day, I found myself wondering “how did I even made the cut“. However, Bhumi & I became great friends, and our camaraderie on set helped us nail the best-friend dynamic on screen.”
As if her acting & music success weren’t enough for this year, Lisa dropped one more bomb. She is set to take the stage at some of the biggest music festivals like the Gully Fest on October 26-27, 2024, as well as Lollapalooza in 2025. With these major performances lined up, Lisa is clearly gearing up for another explosive year in the spotlight.
Lisa shares her heartfelt feelings, “Here’s my announcement for Lollapalooza 2025. I’m super excited because it’s my hometown show in Chicago. It feels amazing to merge my life in Chicago with my life in Mumbai, and I’ll be performing both there & in India.
It’s surreal to be part of such a huge festival with so many big names, and while it feels far away, it’s coming up fast.
We’ve already started redesigning my entire set with new visuals, dancers, and more, so the whole Lisa MRA LIVE experience will be transformed. You’ll definitely see me front row at their set, screaming my lungs out.”
Looking back on this year, it’s surreal how far she has come – from directing, composing, and acting in major projects to potentially setting the stage on fire at Lollapalooza. “My word for the year has been “unavoidable,” and I’m thrilled to see that becoming a reality as I chase my dreams,” she concluded.
Lisa Mishra is rewriting the rules, seamlessly dropping bangers in music and stealing the show in acting—she’s the vibe we didn’t know we needed!
