Masoom Minawala creates history at Milan Fashion Week 2022

Masoom Minawala aka the ‘Face of Indian Fashion’ becomes the first-ever content creator from India to walk the runway as a showstopper at Milan Fashion Week for Vaishali S, who also happens to be the first female Indian designer to showcase a collection at Paris haute couture week.

Masoom as a content creator

Masoom is an Entrepreneur, an Investor, and a passionate Content Creator. With a whole lot of 1.2M followers on Instagram, Masoom creates content that is not only fun to watch but also gets a lot of engagement from her audience. She keeps on hopping on trends but never fails to add her fashion element to it. She also keeps on collaborating with her creator friends. The Digital world is stunned by her growth from a content creator to a Global Fashion Icon.

Masoom founded a start-up at the age of 19, before establishing herself as a Blogger and a Content Creator. She set up a fashion portal called Miss Style Fiesta in her initial days. She successfully runs initiatives like Empowher, #SupportIndianDesigners.

As a content creator, Masoom has collaborated with over 500 brands across the globe. She’s currently hosting a self-produced social media-exclusive reality series called Masoom Takes Fashion Week.

Journey at MFW

Masoom made sure that her fans are constantly updated with what was happening at the Milan Fashion Week. From behind the scenes to all the glam of the Fashion Week, she made sure to put it all out.

Being a passionate admirer of Indian craftsmanship and handlooms, Masoom proudly supported Vaishali and her ethereal pret-a-porter designs. Masoom on her experience with Vaishali says, “Vaishali is one of my favorite designers and to be a showstopper for her at a global stage like Milan Fashion Week, was an absolute dream come true. I have been attending fashion week in Milan since 2019 and every year, it’s a truly sublime experience seeing all the emerging designers and trends showcasing their talent.

Supporting such talented Indian designers on a global platform and helping them expand their audience is one of the key reasons why I started content creation in the first place. As for being told that I’m the first Indian to ever walk for MFW, well it’s a crazy yet humbling experience and I look forward to a lot more of them!”

The Milan Fashion Week saw three inspiring firsts for Indians on the global fashion scene. From the duo of Vaishali and Masoom as the first Indian designer to represent India and first Indian Content Creator to walk the ramp, respectively to Avanti Nagrath who made her debut by opening the show for Versace and becoming the first Indian Model to do so.

Last but not the least, Masoom recently became a proud member of Women India Chamber Commerce & Industry (WICCI), India-Austria Bilateral Business Council.
