With a consistent annual growth of 12-15%, India has over 50,000 startups now out of which around 8,900 – 9,300 are technology-led startups with 2-3 tech startups being born every day. These create approximately 40,000 new jobs over the year, taking the total jobs in the start-up ecosystem to 1.6-1.7 lakh. Currently, there are over 26 states in the country that have “startup policies.” The series Mission Start Ab will put our country and its innovative minds on the global radar, widening the business scope of these ventures to international players. It furthers Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make In India’ initiative.

The award-winning actress does a lot more than ruling the Indian Film Industry. When it comes to startups, she has been an angel investor in Nykaa (now a Unicorn), founded Ed A Mamma and funded StyleCracker and more. When asked about Mission Start Ab, she applauded the initiative saying “While there are many great ideas and ambitious young founders around us, it takes a special kind of determination to turn that idea into reality, build the right team, find the right mentors, raise funding, and create something out of nothing. I am expecting to see a lot of honesty and a lot of vulnerability.” She further believes this will have a far-reaching impact on the country’s growing start-up ecosystem.
