The Archies on Netflix Flies High Ahead Of Its Release

The Archies is one of the most anticipated films of 2023 on Netflix. Soon after its initial announcement, the film has been the talk of the town. However, Netflix, known for its exceptional marketing and promotional strategies decided to go sky-high with the promotion of the film. The promotion, however, was not restricted to the ground but went much above in the sky. The announcement banner for The Archies flew in the sky with the Gateway of India in its background. The cast of the Archies also recently travelled to Sao Paulo in Brazil for the Netflix Tudum event.

The Promotional Event

Much like many other films and series, The Archies also has a dedicated social media presence on Instagram. To promote it, Netflix India, posted a reel on their official handle. The reel created a buzz in the internet world because it was an out-of-the-box promotion strategy. 

The reel showed a flyer attached to a plane, flying high above the historic Gateway of Mumbai. The flyer read “Follow @archiesnetflix on Instagram.” The reel is the magic of VFX but we are truly blown by the concept. Prior to this, Netflix hosted a promotion event at the Gateway of Mumbai for Stranger Things, where the iconic monument was lit up using popular elements from the show.

The Archies completed its shoot in December 2022 and since then has been in the news. While fans are excited to see Zoya Akhtar’s magic once again, there are netizens who have also trolled the nepotistic cast of the film.

We however are excited to relive our childhood once again with The Archies. The comics have been a major part of our childhood and in real sense, our first key into the literary world. We think, simply being reluctant to actors because they come from a certain background would be unfair. More so, Zoya Akhtar, an ace filmmaker, will definitely weave her magic through the films.

The Cast and Crew of The Archies

Director Zoya Akhtar has directed The Archies. The writers of the film include Zoya Akhtar, Ayesha Devitre Dhillon and Reema Kagti. The film is produced by Tiger Baby Films which is co-owned by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. 

In the cast of the film, there are 3 star children, including Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan. Other lead actors in the film include Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda and Dot. 

The Archies Comics

The Archies is a fictional band that originated in the Archie Comics universe. They were introduced in 1968 in “The Archies” comic series and became widely known through their animated TV series, “The Archie Show,” which aired from 1968 to 1969.

The band consists of several characters from the Archie Comics, including Archie Andrews (vocals, guitar), Reggie Mantle (bass guitar), Jughead Jones (drums), Veronica Lodge (keyboards), and Betty Cooper (tambourine). The band members are all high school students who formed the group for fun and to pursue their passion for music.

The success of The Archies led to various spin-offs, including additional comic series and TV shows featuring the band. The popularity of the band has endured over the years, and they continue to be associated with the Archie Comics brand.
