The recent technological advancements are so rapid in nature, that it’s becoming difficult to keep up with them. It’s already been 2 years since the launch of Metaverse. Feel like yesterday, right? Now, that you can create your own universes in the digital world, a lot of brands and businesses are also open to adopting this phenomenon. The famous jewellery brand Senco Gold & Diamonds has launched India’s first virtual showroom called “Sencoverse.” Launched on Metaverse, the virtual showroom aims at connecting with the new age customers to redefine their shopping by providing them with a more customised and seamless experience.
Senco Gold & Diamonds, which recently made its debut on stock exchanges, will offer an end-to-end shopping experience to its users through ‘Sencoverse’. Right from hassle-free browsing to the selection of items to receiving the chosen pieces at their doorsteps, this virtual showroom has many benefits. Customers can access ‘Sencoverse’ from the comfort of their devices by visiting their website https://www.sencoverse.com/ and entering some basic information. This is a significant leap in the company’s digital transformation journey.
The virtual showroom on the metaverse offers an immersive, interactive, and gamified shopping experience. “Sencoverse, the digital platform from Eastern India’s largest jewellery retailer, is a convergence of technology and artistry to bring the brand’s exquisite jewellery to life in the virtual realm,” Senco Gold & Diamonds says in a release.
“We believe that the digitally savvy millennials and Gen Z shoppers are the future of retail, and we want to be at the forefront of providing them with the personalised and convenient shopping experiences they want and need,” said Suvankar Sen, MD and CEO of Senco Gold & Diamonds. “With Sencoverse, we are confident that they will embrace this innovative way of shopping. This initiative is not only a testament to our commitment to innovation, but also a strategic move into the future of retail,” he adds.
“This is a major milestone in our journey to offer innovative services to our customers. Senco Gold & Diamonds is one of India’s most trusted brands, known for its craftsmanship and quality. We are proud to continue this tradition in the digital realm with Sencoverse. It currently showcases 100 of our exquisite products from the Everlite Collection and others, and we plan to expand our product range in a phased manner,” added Joita Sen, Director and Head of Design and Marketing, Senco Gold & Diamonds.
The meticulously designed virtual showroom allows customers to explore a diverse collection of over 100 exquisite jewellery products. It provides 360-degree views of jewellery items in stunning 3D detail, along with interactive features for zooming in and learning more about the products. Sencoverse enables customers to experience the elegance of these finely crafted pieces in a whole new dimension. The showroom also has an integrated Try On feature, allowing customers to virtually try on jewellery items using augmented reality technology and visualise how each piece would look on them.
The Kolkata-based jewellery retailer has also launched an interactive treasure hunt game within the virtual platform. There are four missing jewellery pieces hidden throughout the Sencoverse. Users who can locate all four pieces will be rewarded with 500 points, which can be redeemed at any Senco store for discounts and offers. The Sencoverse website helps users navigate through the virtual store effortlessly with easy-to-understand instructions available at all times.
The jewellery brand was listed on the stock market on July 14, 2023, after raising ₹405 crores via IPO, which comprised a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating up to ₹270 crores and an offer for sale (OFS) of equity shares up to ₹135 crores by a shareholder, SAIF Partners India IV Limited. Senco Gold & Diamonds intends to utilise ₹196 crore of net proceeds from the fresh issue towards funding working capital requirements and the rest towards general corporate purposes.
The firm generates nearly 85% of its revenues from gold jewellery, 10-11% from the sale of diamond jewellery, and the remaining 3-4% via sales of platinum, silver, and other products. As of March 31, 2023, Senco Gold has 136 showrooms (75 company-operated and 61 franchisees) in 96 cities and towns, across 13 states in India. The company also sells products through various online platforms, while it also undertakes wholesale exports of its jewellery primarily to Dubai, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Sencoverse proves to be yet another milestone for the advanced technical abilities our nation possesses. This could be the start of a whole virtual shopping ecosystem altogether!
