With ‘Rise, Rebel, Repeat‘ as the tagline, the movie “Thank You For Coming” (TYFC) is termed as the biggest chick flick of the year. This movie has been making waves ever since it was announced. The entire star cast and team have been going all out with their movie promotions. If there’s one thing we must learn from the “Thank You For Coming” team, it is their social media and promotions game. With the film out in theatres tomorrow, October 6, 2023, the TYFC team are all over the internet and they have been killing it.
When you have a stellar cast like Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Shibani Bedi, Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, Sushant Divgikr, Anil Kapoor, and more, you know it’s going to be the most talked about film. Produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and directed by Rhea Kapoor‘s husband Karan Boolani, Thank You For Coming was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The entire cast has been serving looks all throughout their promotions. All the girls have been styled and dressed to the nines keeping the vibe and theme of the movie in mind.
It is heartwarming for the creator industry to see so many well known content creators be a part of one film. Bollywood has always been a sort of melting pot that accepts and accommodates faces or ideas that are working. Social-media stars are the newest entities for business value to be seen in, since they come with a crazy fan following that often exceeds many mainstream film actors. The presence of these faces immediately helps the film target a certain section of the audience and widens the draw for its release.
Every time a new song from the movie released, they had some promotion tactic up their sleeve. From collaborating with social media stars to brands, they have done it all. The internet has been taken over by these movie promotions.
For the launch of the very first song “Haan Ji” they travelled by Mumbai’s only party bus – Migo. Called party on wheels, that’s exactly what the cast did till they got to a famous nightclub where they raged some more.
Post their TIFF screening, the team released their next song “Desi Wine” which promises to be a Roka and Shaadi favourite. Bhumi and Shehnaaz grooved to the beats of the song along with the current dance heartthrob Shehzaan Khan. The two actresses were later seen at a nightclub with Shibani Bedi, introducing the song.
Bhumi and Shibani teamed up with the amazing baker Shivesh to create a “Haan Ji” hot chocolate that one can enjoy with their squad.
Pooja Dhingra, founder of the super loved and famous Le15 patisserie, got Bhumi and Shehnaaz to whip up some jumbo macaroons. Pooja also brought her podcast NoSugarCoat back with a special episode taking Bhumi.
The “Thank You For Coming” girls attended the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa episode, being all glammed up. The girls were donning beautiful outfits which made them look like a rainbow together.
The team further collaborated with Papacream to introduce a TYFC special ice-cream flavour. The name and the flavour are in sync with the theme of the movie: Pleasure Bomb. It is a rich and creamy roasted hazelnut ice cream with a chocolate hazelnut swirl, which will be available on Swiggy.
TYFC marks the acting and singing debut of Sushant Divigikr a.k.a. Rani KoHEnur. The newest track of the movie Pari Hoon Main is a reprised version of the old classic, which is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sushant and recreated by Rahul Pais and Nariman Khambata (The Jamroom). The cast and Sushant have been vibing to the song ever since it’s been out.
Sushant released a special dance reel on their own song. Adorning that gorgeous outfit while performing that stunning choreography, Rani does look like a Pari.
The TYFC team also held a special stand-up show which was graced by Sumukhi Suresh, Prashasti Singh (the co-writer of the movie), and more comedians along with the cast of the film.
The TYFC cast was a part of the India Today Conclave which was held today, October 5, 2023. They spoke about the movie and what it offers while urging viewers to go watch it in theatres tomorrow.
iDiva got Kusha to bring back Billi Maasi for a hot minute. She spoke about sex and female pleasure in her classic style leaving everyone in splits.
The men of the movie were conspiring against the girls since they are the ones in limelight constantly and the boys get sidelined. Until Jeetu ji came and talked sense into them. “Be the real Prince of this fairytale – by standing with your Queens!” said the caption.
Shehnaaz has the strongest fan army for sure. In a bizarre moment, her fans have booked an entire theatre hall for a movie screening of Thank You For Coming in Pritampura in Delhi. One of her fan pages posted this saying that all Delhi fans are invited for cake cutting at 1 PM and the movie at 2:45 PM.
The “Thank You For Coming” screening took place at PVR Cinemas yesterday, October 4, 2023. The event saw many A-listers attend the premiere like Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja, Ananya Pandey, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa, Khushi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Vaani Kapoor. Creators Ankush Bahuguna, Komal Pandey and Siddharth Batra came as well to support their creator besties Dolly, Kusha and Shibani.
The highlight of the screening was Dolly’s parents and best friends’ reaction to her movie and them meeting all the stars. She penned a heartfelt post on her Instagram about the same. What a beautiful journey for a creator.
And likewise, Sushant also attended the screening with their parents and put up a sweet post crediting them for always being a strong support. They added, “Here’s to many many more Artistes , regardless of their gender , sexual orientation, caste, body type , skin colour or any other dimension of BEING , getting their due wholly and solely based on talent and hard work in the arts and entertainment industry! It might’ve taken time but here we are.” Sushant stated that they represent the entire community while paving the way into the Indian film industry.
Thank You For Coming marketing team, take a bow! They have done a splendid job promoting this movie and left no stone unturned while at it. We are super excited to catch the movie in cinemas tomorrow!
