Uber Eats Brings Ross And Rachel Back: New Super Bowl Ad Features Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer

Uber Eats got everyone talking with its exciting Super Bowl teaser featuring former football player David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham. The brand has now unveiled its full Big Game ad titled Don’t Forget Uber Eats.” Apart from highlighting the myriad things Uber Eats can do, the highlight of the ad is that it stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer!

Ross and Rachel” are one of the most loved couples from the most loved sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. The commercial also stars American singer and songwriter Usher, American rapper Jelly Roll, and the Beckhams. The Uber Eats ad was created by the creative agency Special US.

The Iconic Ad

The Uber Eats Super Bowl commercial is basically celebrities forgetting simple things.

Ross & Rachel

The video opens with Aniston being handed flowers by a production assistant, sparking a conversation about the unexpected variety of items offered on Uber Eats. “Yeah well you know what they say in order to remember something, you have got to forget something else. Make a little room,” quips Jennifer while taking her parcel.

The scene then cuts to David Schwimmer, who is astonished to see Jennifer Aniston on the same set. “Jen! Hey!” he greets her with a smile as he approaches to hug her. Jennifer hesitates and blocks his hug with her Uber Eats bag causing Schwimmer to almost bump into the flowers.

Have we met? Give me a hint,” she asks Schwimmer. Bewildered, he says, “Well, we worked together for ten years.”Ten years? You were great,” she responds, faking to remember him. Accepting her forgetfulness, Schwimmer says, “You still don’t know, do you?”

Aniston admits he is right. As she walks away with her bag of flowers and other stuff, she takes a jibe and says, “Like I’d forget ten years of my life.” As he stares off at Aniston leaving, Schwimmer says, “I hate this town.”

The Beckhams

Victoria is spotted wearing a T-shirt labelled “David’s wife“, indicating she is overlooking her recognition from her girl band days. David Beckham asks his wife, “Remember when you used to be a Pepper Lady?” (since Victoria Beckham was the lead vocalist of Spice Girls). To this, Victoria wonders, “Wasn’t it the Cinammon Sisters?” “Basil Babes?” replies David. Victoria guesses once more, “Paprika Girls?” “That’s absurd,” David finally concludes.

Jelly Roll

Jelly Roll, whose face is doodled with numerous facial tattoos, momentarily forgets about them and gazes into the mirror in horror, exclaiming, “Did someone doodle on my face?” He then panics, shouting “It’s not coming off!”

Usher

In the closing scene, Usher enjoys food from the delivery platform, remarking, “I hope I get to play a halftime show someday man,” clearly forgetting that he just finished his performance as the Super Bowl halftime show headliner.

The purpose of the entire advertisement was to instil Uber Eats’ message “Whatever you forget, remember Uber Eats gets groceries, alcohol, flowers, and anything” into everyone’s minds and they did a great job.

That Teaser Connection

A few days ago, a teaser for the ad was unveiled, showcasing David and Victoria Beckham humorously reenacting a scene from their documentary series “Beckham,” where David amusingly disputes Victoria’s assertion of having a ‘working classupbringing. Now we understand the context behind the scene in the teaser where Victoria struggles to remember Jennifer Aniston‘s name, mistakenly referring to her as Jessica Aniston.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Fans React

Amazed by Ross and Rachel’s reunion, fans flooded the comment section, sharing their reactions. One fan wrote, “Am i the one one that thinks it would have made it 10x more hilarious if shes said “like i could forget we were on a break” instead.” “She didn’t forget. Her memory is just “on a break” said another. A third netizen said, “All I saw is Ross and Rachel.” Another wrote how “It’s always heartwarming when any of the Friends cast reunite ❤️❤️”

The Uber Eats Super Bowl ad is scheduled to broadcast during the game on February 11, 2024, in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
