WhatsApp continues to work on improving its interface by adding new features to the beta version. In the latest news, it has been reported that WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.21.14.6.
Let’s have a look at what’s inside the new 2.21.14.6 update.
WhatsApp will finally allow users to choose the quality of video they would like to upload. Presently, users are not provided with an upload quality choice and the video gets uploaded following the default video quality. But now that no longer will be the case! “It’s happening! After several years, WhatsApp is finally working on a feature that allows you to choose the video quality to upload!” says WABetaInfo on their website.
The screenshot shows that users will be able, in a future update, to choose the video upload quality by picking one of 3 options (Source: WABetaInfo):
Auto (recommended): WhatsApp will detect what is the best compression algorithm for specific videos.
Best quality: WhatsApp will always send the video using the best quality available!
Data saver: when Data saver is enabled in your Android settings, WhatsApp will compress videos before sending them.
Right now, the feature is under development and it will be released in a future update soon!
