WhatsApp rolling out these new features!

According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp, the most commonly used messaging app in the world, has come up with exciting new features.

The new features will improve user’s experience, especially for all the group members. They have a total of 7 new features that have been announced on the app’s beta version for both android and iOS. These features will also be accessible to desktop users.

Now, let’s take a look at the new features that WhatsApp has announced:

Status Reactions

WhatsApp is releasing status reactions on WhatsApp beta for Android, a feature that lets people react to others’ statuses just like we can do on Instagram.

As of now, users can pick from 8 available emojis: Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points.

Leaving a group is harder than ever

WhatsApp will let users know the list of people who left or were removed from the group over the last 60 days. Not just the admins, every member of the group will have access to the past participant’s list.

But now you can leave without any notification

Your name might appear in the past participant’s list which the users have to check on purpose. The app also gives a slight relief to those who want to leave quietly.

The updated version of the app will let your leave the group without anyone else in the group getting a notification. Only admins will receive this information.

New context menu

Now you see an option of attaching contacts, images, or other stuff to the chat. The new context menu may offer a lot more. This will let you change the text to bold and italics. Also, the spell check feature is a big addition.

Screenshot Blocking for View Once Messages

View Once is already an incredibly popular way to share photos or media that don’t need to have a permanent digital record. Now we’re enabling screenshot blocking for View Once messages for an added layer of protection. They’re now testing this feature and are excited to roll it out to users soon.

More privacy

You are many times added to those unwanted groups and your mobile number becomes accessible to everyone. Now, the updated version will let users choose who can see their phone number. You might get an option to let only your saved contacts see your phone number in a group. Your name may appear by default. You will also have the option now to customize who can see you ‘online’.

Manage storage

The last feature will let you manage WhatsApp storage by bringing the old storage section from a different starting point. The feature will let you delete unwanted media and selective section messages.

While all these features seem promising and might also be solutions for many users. Release dates for some of these are still not certain as the work is in progress.
