One burning question that has grappled India in recent times is not about poverty or unemployment or even ‘acche din.’ It is about a digital star who has been seen almost everywhere. If you haven’t guessed it already, we are talking about Orhan Awatramani popularly known as Orry. He has become omnipresent in the digital world as he is seen at almost every big party being hosted in the country. From birthday bash to the recent grand opening of the Jio World Plaza, there is no place where this man is not invited. Join us as we try our hands at cracking the toughest question of the year, ‘Who is Orry?’
Orry has been spotted with almost every celebrity at least once. Be it the rising star Suhana Khan or Gen Z icons such as Jahnvi Kapoor, he has a picture with everybody. Not only these young actors but Orry has also been clicked with OG actresses such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone and the like. However, all hell broke loose when Orhan Awatramani posted pictures of himself with the Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani. These were no ordinary pictures but images that depicted profound familiarity.
Ever since Orry posted pictures with Nita Ambani the question ‘Who is Orry’ has reverberated multiple times and has spread like wildfire on social media platforms.
Brands today are quick to climb on the tide of fame. Orry being the digital star that he is, brands would not have missed this opportunity. One of the first to bring the ball in their court was Netflix, who used the mystery surrounding him in an innovative way. To promote one of its biggest films for the year, Heart of Stone, Netflix roped in Orry in a promotional video where he addresses the biggest question of the hour, ‘Who is this guy?’
In a rather smart way without actually disclosing anything about himself, Orry tackles the question, stating that “Orry is just Orry.” However, while checking the reliability of ‘heart,’ he makes two statements about himself stating that ‘Orry is an Aeronautical Engineer’ and ‘Orry is a Reality show star,’ which at that moment seemed bizarre.
Not only Netflix but Swiggy is also trying to borrow Orry’s fame as it tries its hand at meme marketing. Using a collection of pictures from the Jio World Plaza inauguration, Swiggy called Orry an “Aloo” that can be found in every “sabzi.” Well, we truly cannot stop laughing at Swiggy’s analogy because dearest Orry is honestly as essential at a party as Aloo is at an Indian household.
The quest to find Orry’s information is much deeper than we think it is and a Reddit user acted upon it, unlike the rest of us. After putting on their detective glasses, the user found a LinkedIn profile of Orry who claims to have been working as a Special Project Manager at Reliance Industries Limited for over six years now. Maybe, we are getting closer to “Who is Orry?” Are we?

The Aeronautical Engineer revelation also now seems like a piece of the puzzle that sits perfectly with the post that Orry is holding with Reliance Industries Limited. The access to big events and the familiarity with whose who’s of the glamour world also makes sense.
However, we can only make these assumptions, it is Orry and just Orry who can accept or deny these theories about himself. Who is Orry , we don’t know, but whatever we see of him, it is safe to say that Orry is a fashion icon and a trendsetter who is hard to ignore. Making his way into the inner circle as well as the GQ magazine, he is surely here to stay.
