What Is Yashashree Like? Real Vs. Reel Life Persona

Yashashree shares that there is little difference between who she is in real life and her online persona. She describes herself as a homebody who only goes out when necessary, such as for travel or to explore new restaurants and cafes. When asked about her favorite place outside the home, she mentioned that she enjoys going on drives and is proud of her driving skills.

Early Life & Career

Growing up, entertainment was never on Yashashree’s radar. It came naturally to her when her friends pushed her to create content, especially reels on Instagram. Her videos gained attention quickly, which she did not expect, and she feels immense gratitude for the support. She always sets high goals for her reels, manifesting millions of views, which has become a reality.

Yashashree credits her school friends, “I have just two really close friends from school who have always been there for me. They’ve supported and encouraged me through thick and thin, especially during those times when I struggled to stay consistent with my content creation.”

Transition From Job To Full-Time Content Creation

Until August 2023, Yashashree was balancing her job with content creation. Eventually, she decided to leave her job to focus entirely on creating content. During that time, she had already reached 100k followers on Instagram, which made the decision easier.

Fast forward to now, her family follows her every move on Instagram, even uploading her posts to their own stories. While Yashashree hasn’t shared much about her family with her audience, they know about her success as an influencer and support her journey.

The ‘Telugu Girl’ Story

We asked her why does your fans call you ‘Telugu Girl‘ and what’s the story behind that nickname? “It’s quite random, but I’ve always dreamed of entering Tollywood, so maybe that’s why it happened. There was this song from the movie Animal, called Jamal Kudu, and I made a reel dancing to it. Somehow, the Telugu audience picked it up, and one of them posted all my reel clips with the caption, “Not all influencers are cringe.” It went viral on Twitter, and a lot of people from the Telugu audience came to my Instagram. That month, I gained a lot of followers from the South,” Yashashree said.

Since then they call me “Telugu Ammai” or “Telugu Papa.” It’s really cute. “Telugu Ammai” means Telugu girl, and “Telugu Papa” is like calling someone ‘baby’ but affectionately,” she added.

Moreover, Yashashree thinks luck has played a big role in her path, “I’m still amazed by the love I receive. I always try to stay consistent and relatable while being myself.

Yashashree Was A Korean Translator?

Long before K-pop and K-dramas became as popular as they are today in India, Yashashree began learning Korean in 2016. Her interest in the language and culture started after watching her first Korean drama in ninth grade. While translating was not her initial goal, she has now pursued it professionally and finds it to be a blessing.

Her first Korean drama was Boys Over Flowers, a classic that many Korean drama fans can relate to. She notes that for many, their first love in the Korean entertainment world is BTS.

For all the anime lovers, Yashashree is also an avid anime fan. While she doesn’t think there is a specific character she resembles, she enjoys many anime series, including ‘Naruto‘ and ‘Dragon Ball Z‘. One of her favorites, which she feels is underrated, is ‘Gintama.’

Staying Authentic In Brand Collaborations

Yashashree said, “It’s tough because 50% is about the brand’s needs, and 50% is my own creativity. But I always find a way to balance it. For example, if a brand asks for a promotion, I might create a vlog to make it engaging while keeping in mind their deliverables.”

While she believes in staying authentic in brand collaborations, she also believes there are some brands she won’t promote. “I would never promote betting apps. While I understand others may do it, it’s not something I would feel comfortable promoting. I don’t want to endanger my audience,” said Yashashree.

Story Behind Her Bio: “CEO Of Zoning Out”

We came across one unique thing on her Instagram Bio, where she refers to herself as the “CEO of zoning out” and we had to ask her the sauce behind it. She explains “I’ve always been a daydreamer, even as a kid. It actually got me into trouble at school once where my teacher complained to my parents about how I couldn’t stay focused in class!”
