With this, it aims to provide a consolidated platform within the ZEE5 app, offering subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) services tailored to meet the preferences of South Asian content enthusiasts.
The ZEE5 Global Add-ons feature acts as a central hub, offering a diverse range of South Asian entertainment on a single platform. This includes platforms such as Simply South, Oho Gujarati, Chaupal, Namma Flix, istream and EPIC ON. Remarkably, the pricing for these Add-ons begins at an affordable $1.49, which will allow a huge user base to access it.
A notable aspect of the ZEE5 Global Add-ons service is its simplified billing process. Users require a ZEE5 subscription to purchase these Add-on packs, with all charges consolidated into a single bill at the end of the billing cycle. This approach is similar to that of Amazon’s Prime Video Channels and aims to enhance user convenience and transparency in financial transactions.
In response to the escalating costs associated with content creation and customer acquisition in the global streaming industry, ZEE5 Global Add-ons pledges to offer services at prices lower than direct subscriptions. Furthermore, some platforms will be exclusively available through ZEE5 Global’s Add-on packs, incentivising users to opt for this consolidated service.
The emergence of aggregator platforms extends beyond ZEE5 Global, with India hosting several similar services like Prime Video Channels, Tata Play, JioFiber, and Airtel XStream Premium.
