Brands Leading Sustainability Charge with Greener Possibilities

Leading brands are proactively moving towards sustainability as environmental issues gain in importance by integrating eco-friendly practises into every aspect of their business. Many businesses are establishing challenging targets for decreasing their carbon footprint and are looking into fresh, creative approaches to become more sustainable.

This entails making investments in renewable energy, creating sustainable supply chains, and implementing recycling and repurposing programmes to cut waste. By putting sustainability first, these companies not only help the environment, but also build their reputation and attract more environmentally concerned customers. Future corporate operations are about to undergo a change as the push towards sustainability picks up speed.

As many brands are making a way to greener environment promotion now, here are some of them making a significant difference and making each footprint count.

Apple

The phone brand has decided to make all devices carbon-neutral. Apple has revealed advancements towards its ambitious plan to make every device carbon neutral by 2030, including a new framework for communicating the latest iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, and Apple Watch models’ reduced climate impact.
Additionally, the firm is introducing new collaborations for community engagement and innovative climate solutions. Customers are encouraged to learn more and take action through newly curated collections and specially designed activities available across Apple platforms.

Even while the company’s revenue increased by more than 68 percent between 2015 and 2018, Apple has reduced its overall carbon footprint by more than 45 percent. More than 28 million metric tonnes of carbon were saved by the company’s vast environmental initiatives last year.

Apple’s iPhone disassembly robot, Daisy, is one of many innovations advancing progress toward the company’s goal of using only recycled and renewable materials in its products.

The company carried out in-depth assessments to find out how much of each of these goods’ manufacture was carried out using clean energy, as well as how the increased usage of recycled materials is reducing each device’s climate effect.

“Apple is also partnering with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) on a new initiative called the Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Origination Platform, which aims to showcase a new model of scaling up, aligning, and mobilising public and private investments for high-quality nature-based solutions under an integrated landscape approach.”, Apple announced before Earth Day 2023.

Garnier

This famous French cosmetics brand is trying not to leave any stone unturned when it comes to make planet green.

In partnership with Plastics for Change, a social enterprise founded with the goal of using plastic waste as a resource for addressing social issues, Garnier strengthened its dedication to environmental protection in 2022 by funding a specialised plastic waste collection centre in Chennai, India. with a goal of gathering 2,000 tonnes of plastic for the ocean. This centre aimed to improve the lives of 2000 residents of the area in its first year. In European markets, the recognisable Ultra Doux collection of haircare products from Garnier now comes in packaging made from the plastic that was collected. For the first time ever, Ultra Doux bottles are constructed entirely from recycled plastic, 30% of which will end up in the ocean.

Garnier will install plastic collection kiosks at 20 important sites in Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi to make collection services accessible to everyone and to promote their #OneGreenStep campaign. In addition, Garnier has agreements with eCommerce partners Myntra and Amazon under which it will recycle two plastic bottles through Plastics for Change for each Garnier product purchased on these websites.

Solar Cell Remote

“The level of carbon emissions from the SolarCell Remote, from production to disposal, is roughly one-third of that of the manufacturing of disposable batteries1,” said JongKeun Lee from H/W Platform Lab. “By eliminating the need for disposable batteries, not only are fewer resources consumed but carbon emissions are lowered by manufacturing fewer batteries over time.”
