The thing with trends is, they keep changing and they change so fast, that you might miss a few. Thanks to social media and our benevolent content creators who educate us on these trends from time to time and let us discover our styles. While we are still struggling with graphic liners, our creators have hopped on the soft girl era trend and shown us how to get going with it.

What is this Soft Girl Era?

Soft girl era

The soft girl era brings back the much-loved VSCO looks. It is a confluence of sophistication and all things cute. This soft girl aesthetics include flowy and floral outfits, in pastel or neutral shades. Perfect for the summer months, this softie trend emphasised femininity in girly fashion trimmed with laces and things alike.

The soft girl era does not limit to only feminine fashion but extends beyond to the world of aesthetics which includes adorable flower vases and many other romantic settings. To give you all a clearer picture, remember the Netflix series Bridgeton, that’s exactly what we are talking about. We now can’t wait for a Carriage to pick us up and I am sure inside the carriage, the traffic will feel more bearable.

The warm fluffy cloud-like soft girl era is a subcultural phenomenon that emerged amongst Nigerian Black Women and soon spread like wildfire on popular social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram going the hashtag #SoftGirlEra.
