Content Creators Shine Bright In Prime Video India’s New Slate Of Shows And Movies

It’s raining content! After Netflix India announced its new movies and series for 2024 last month, it was now Amazon Prime Video India‘s turn to unveil their massive new lineup. And massive it is. With 69 new titles, Prime Video has announced a new slate for India titled “Are You Ready?” with fresh shows and movies that are scheduled to premiere on the streaming platform over the next two years.

The list features 40 original series and movies, and 29 films that will stream on the platform post-theatrical release, all across Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. What caught our eye was that amongst the stellar celebrities featured in the OTT platforms’ shows and movies, there are also various content creators and digital stars who will be making an appearance.

Content Meets Creators

Let’s take you through Prime Video India’s new content starring our favourite creators and influencers:

Andhera

MostlySane a.k.a. Prajakta Koli is back to floor us in a yet new OTT show called Andhera. It’s a visceral tale of urban horror, wherein a fearless cop and a haunted medical student must take on this living darkness to avert impending doom. The show features stars like Priya Bapat, Karanvir Malhotra, Surveen Chawla, Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, Pranay Pachauri, and our very own Prajakta Koli.

Follow Karlo Yaar

Uorfi Javed is India’s biggest viral sensation – where she goes, drama follows. Self-made to the T, the digital star is now taking her fashion and fame to the next level. Prime Video’s ‘Follow Karlo Yaar’ aims to get the audience to know the real Uorfi as she tries to keep her fully dysfunctional family together.

The Tribe

The Tribe” are a group of Indian influencers who have been set up to crack global fame in Los Angeles. Now isn’t that the kind of content we like? Starring social media divas Alanna Panday, Alaviaa Jaaferi, Srushti Porey, Alfia Jafry, Aryaana Gandhi, and Hardik Zaveri, ‘The Tribe’ will definitely make for an entertaining watch.

Supermen Of Malegaon

Supermen of Malegaon‘ follows the journey of an aspiring filmmaker as he bands together his group of friends to make a film for his small town of Malegaon. It’s a heartwarming tale that beautifully captures the essence of friendship and the transformative power of filmmaking. Digital stars like Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Muskan Jaaferi, amongst others, will be seen in this story.

Waack Girls

Rytasha Rathore will be seen in Prime Video’s ‘Waack Girls‘. It’s a story of six Kolkata girls who create Waack Girls, a dance group in a city unfamiliar with waacking. Led by Ishani, an expert waacker and managed by Lopa, this light-hearted story is filled with music, dance, comedy and drama.

Dil Dosti Dilemma

Asmara’s summer takes an unexpected turn when she is sent to her grandparents’ neighbourhood as a form of punishment. To maintain appearances with her friends, she pretends to be in Canada. Amidst the struggles of a traditional setting, she learns new life lessons. It features Anushka Sen, Tanvi Azmi, Shishir Sharma, Suhasini Mulay, Khush Jotwani, Vishakha Pandey, Revathi Pillai, and Elisha Mayor.

Call Me Bae

Having proved her mettle in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, all eyes are on Ananya Panday now. Downsized from heiress to hustler, ‘Bae’ discovers that her most valuable assets aren’t her diamonds, but her street smarts and style. Broke but refusing to be broken, she navigates the newsrooms of Mumbai, finding beaus, behens, and her better self. Apart from Panday, ‘Call Me Bae’ stars social media celebs like Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.

Other Noteworthy Series/Movies

Amongst Prime Video India’s extensive lineup, the one show that everyone has been waiting for with baited breaths is Mirzapur. And they finally announced that Mirzapur Season 3 will be coming! The news sent the fans into a frenzy. We’ll also get Paatal Lok Season 2, Bandish Bandits Season 2, and Panchayat Season 3, amongst others.

The ‘Are You Ready’ launch event was like a huge watch party with creators and celebrities alike. Creators like Ankusha Bahuguna, and Srishti Garg, amongst others, were present at the event too.
