Facebook is still expanding the features of Facebook Reels, and the latest addition is a new collaborative Reels option that would let users invite another user to co-author a Reels clip.
Facebook is currently working on a new “Invite Collaborator” option in the Reels creation flow, as you can see in this tweet provided below by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi.
This option would allow users to add another profile as a co-creator to be listed on your clip. This comes as no real surprise as it is n order to increase exposure opportunities for creators.
Facebook’s parent company Meta has been experimenting with a number of new options, such as Creator Collaborations on Facebook, which allow multiple creators to be listed on a single Facebook post, and “Collabs” on Instagram, which are essentially the same thing but on IG Reels and feed posts.
“We are launching Collabs, a new way to co-author Feed posts and Reels. Invite an account to be a collaborator. Both names will appear on the header, share to both sets of followers, live on both profile grids, and share views, likes, and comments, ” the company said in a tweet.
However, it appears that it will soon, and given that more than 50% of Facebook user time is now spent on video content and that Reels consumption is increasing quickly, it might be a good idea to consider maximizing exposure through influencer and brand partnerships.
Maybe doing that will make it possible for your company to use Reels without having to make them yourself.
Reels can be created by uploading new videos during the creation process, uploading videos from your phone’s photo gallery, or recording reels in a series of clips (one at a time).
It’s still early, and there hasn’t been any official announcement about the experiment which, it’s important to note, hasn’t been made available for testing by the general public.
