Priyanshu Modi (@priyaansshu) is a multi-talented individual best known as a filmmaker, writer, and content creator. Before creating content online, he was also a front-end developer, showcasing his expertise in frameworks like React & Vue.js. His new mini-series, “On Stage,” tries to find a way to make it to his dream show, but what happens next is unexpected!
It all begins with a voice note from Ayaan‘s (Priyanshu) mom: “Teri performance kab hai beta?”—the kind of disappointment you don’t share, but only with that one special person. In Ayaan’s life it was Alia (Riddhi). Being all disheartened & on the verge of giving up his dream, she hits him with some wisdom, “The mountain you’re carrying, you were only supposed to climb.” Over chai and samosas, Ayaan tries to brush it off, but then, the call comes. Fall Poetry invites him to share his words on stage! What happens next? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned for that!
With a dreamy Bollywood vibe, Ayaan weaves a poem for Alia that goes, “Uss ladki se mil kar duniya, mele ke jhoolon jaisi hai. Mujhe pasand ho khushboo jinki, theek unhi phoolon jaisi hai.” And honestly, who wouldn’t melt? Alia, completely mesmerised, said, “The stage is all yours!” But Ayaan, with a cheeky grin, replied, “I won’t present this poem.” Curious, Alia asked, “Why?” and he responded, “Kuch aur crazy likhunga!”
Laughing, Alia warmly added, “Your poems make the world smile with me. But seriously, where does all this creativity come from?” He simply said, “Dil se! You know, Martin Scorsese once said, ‘The most personal is the most creative.’”
Alia playfully joked, “So, who or what is your most personal?” To keep the banter going, Ayaan answered, “Dilli aur pani puri!” With a teasing nudge, Alia asked, “Anyone specific?” His quick response: “Shah Rukh Khan.”
Finally it’s performance day! Ayaan was rehearsing his story when a rep from Fall Poetry dropped a bomb saying, “Your slot is cut down to 4 minutes!” Now, all grumpy, he vents to Alia on the phone, “Yaar, kuch samajh nahi aa raha! Main bana hi nahi hoon iske liye.” But Alia being the ultimate hype girl, reminds him, “Aisa kuch nahi hai! You’ve made it this far because you are meant for this.” Just as her pep talk hits, Ayaan’s performance call comes in. Walking up to the stage…ah ah, catch what happens next in the next episode!
As he steps onto the stage, nerves tingling, he introduces himself with a smile and the title of his set, “Badi Aasani Se…” You remember right? The Bollywood vibe poem? Yes, it’s happening! He flows through his verses, lost in the moment, but wait! A flashback reveals the twist: his original set that was 8 minutes long didn’t work out, yet somehow, the poem magically fits as it was for exactly 4 minutes (talk about connecting the dots!) But just when the audience was vibing along disaster strikes and the mic cuts out! So, what’s next for our poet?
Amidst all the hustle and bustle, Ayaan suddenly remembered Alia’s words: “Tu jo sunaaye, jaise bhi sunaaye, mai humesha aise hi sun rahi houngi.” It struck him how lucky he was to have that special person by his side, always. So, ditching the mic, he let his poetry flow in a dreamy way that kept everyone hooked. And there she was, the one who made him the happiest, glowing with a smile!
As we wrap up this amazing series synopsis, we had a candid chat with the man himself: Priyanshu Modi. We asked him, “What sparked the idea for the ‘On Stage’ series, and how did you bring it to life?” Priyanshu expressed, “Two major instances sparked the idea. One, the moment I was doing my live poetry show in Delhi earlier this year when in the middle of my favourite piece of my set, the mic went off, and I had a thousand thoughts running through my head in the two seconds that followed, before I finally took a step back & started shouting the poem at the top of my lungs, and finished it.
The other (second) is just from a month ago, when I was listening to Main Agar Kahoon from Om Shanti Om & felt this sudden insuppressible urge to direct a dreamy over-the-top on-stage dance sequence for it. Right after having this thought, I came up with the initial ideas for the story.“
“About bringing my vision to life. It was a process that started with me scripting all 5 episodes. Later I, my DOP (Tushar), and the AD for the series (Sanchit) went to recce, the venue that became THE STAGE. We ended up shooting for 3 days in total, covering close to 120-130 shots per day, which made this the toughest shoot of all of our lives, yet. But the most fun & the one to teach us the most too,” he added.
Priyanshu’s filmmaking, writing, and content creation skills have truly breathed life into the On Stage series! His work encourages us to tap into our creativity & find joy in the ride, reminding us that it’s all about the journey, and if you have the right person by your side, you have won in life!

loved it!!!
I loved the whole series! But still wondering why is there nothing mentioned about Riddhi’s effortless acting and expressions that were so emotionally captivating?
