Harry Potter Movies to make it to Netflix!

The Potterheads can enjoy the magic now on Netflix too! Yes, the Harry Potter series will now be available on Netflix.

An entertainment and news page called Pubity posted about it too and the post has got responses in like and comments in lakhs!

The happy news is however currently only for Netflix users of the UK and Ireland.

On Tuesday (16 May), Netflix UK announced that the hit magical franchise would be carried on their platform from Wednesday. All eight Harry Potter films will be available to stream in the UK from today (Wednesday 17 May), Netflix has announced.”, reported Independent.

The films, which are adaptations of JK Rowling’s best-selling children’s books, are now available to view in their entirety for the first time.

The young cast of the first movie, which included Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, was instantly famous all over the world after its debut in 2001.

Some of the most popular franchise films in British cinema are the Harry Potter flicks. The last installment, which debuted in 2011, smashed box office records in the UK by earning £23 million in its opening weekend.

The Harry Potter films to be showcased on Netflix are:

  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010)
  • Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011)

How Do I Watch the Harry Potter Movies?

Fans could previously only watch the films when they were broadcast on TV or by purchasing or renting them. American lovers of Hogwarts can see the movie on the Max streaming service from HBO.

While the movies have been available on Prime Video for some time now, but they are being taken down from the platform in the next few days. But worry not, as there are other online movie platforms that have the Harry Potter series available.

Harry Potter is also available on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, in addition to Netflix. But since the free option excludes the Harry Potter films, you’ll need to pay up for either a Peacock Plus or Peacock Premium membership.

The Harry Potter television series will stream on the OTT platform Max (formerly known as HBO Max). It had been widely assumed over the previous few days that HBO would approve the idea, but it has now been made official that the network will finance a “decade-long series” based on J.K. Rowling’s seven books. Based on the books, an eight-part film franchise has already been created. A new cast will be in the web series. The makers promised a “faithful adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter book series.”

HBO Max and Discovery+ will officially be united into a new service called simply Max, it was announced during Warner Bros. Discovery’s presentation to the media and investors on April 12. According to Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO Max, the team is thrilled to provide viewers the chance to learn about Hogwarts in a brand-new way.

“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years, “said Bloys.
