Instagram has opened up access to a new feature that allows some creators to add multiple links to their Instagram bio in order to increase the potential for their businesses to grow on the platform.
This option has been in the testing phase for a while and finally, it is being tested in the app with a select group of creators.
This illustration, provided below by hairstylist Sarah Page, shows how the new multiple-link option works.
You can see in the link section of the profile that, to the right of the primary link, there is an indicator that reads “and 2 others,” pointing to the extra URLs listed.

When you tap on it, a pop-up with several URLs appears, giving you the option to drive traffic directly from your Instagram presence to more sources.
As previously mentioned, the option has actually been under testing since October of last year, with different formats being tested in the app’s back-end code.
The option to add a Facebook Group link, along with an almost infinite variety of other URLs to whatever sites you like, is one of the many tests and additions (shared by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi) that have been made, as you can see in the image given below.
It’s unclear at this time how many links users will be able to add formally, but the goal seems to be to diminish the usefulness of third-party apps like Linktree.
Many Instagram users currently use it to add more links to their app bios. It appears that Instagram is looking to provide more direct, native options to facilitate the same.
It’s possible that you can use this option right now, but there is no official information on who has access. It also feels incomplete, with the main display of URLs likely set to be revised some more before a wider expansion.
Depending on the user’s strategy, it might be a useful addition that gives them more ways to increase traffic to their Instagram account.
