Globally one of the most used apps with over a billion users, Instagram continues to make additions to one of its most successful ventures, Instagram Reels. In the latest updates Instagram has started to display ads for all users worldwide. The trial for the same has already taken place in countries like India, Australia, Brazil, and Germany in April.
“We see Reels as a great way for people to discover new content on Instagram, and so ads are a natural fit. Brands of all sizes can take advantage of this new creative format in an environment where people are already being entertained,” said Instagram’s Chief Operating Officer, Justin Osofsky.
According to Mashable, Instagram has teamed up with leading brands and has even tested their advertisements on Reels. The brands being BMW, Louis Vuitton, Netflix and Uber. Jay Kapoor, a popular Indian content creator also told people about this addition made by Instagram.
Ads displayed as reels will have the same vertical and full-screen format as the normally uploaded reels. The advertisements will be up to 30 seconds long and will appear between individual reels when browsing through the reels tab on the Instagram app. The reel ads can be liked, commented upon, saved and also shared by the viewers.
Reel ads will be a witty marketing strategy for brands and in times to come the internet will be blessed with ads that are literally out of the box!
