Globally one of the most used social media apps Instagram has now become much more than a photo posting app. The app is now one of the best places to establish and grow small businesses thereby providing a platform to young entrepreneurs for featuring their products. The business space on Instagram has also allowed brands to reach their target audience at the click of a button. Be it a sponsored post or a hashtag ‘#’ we now know that both serve the common need, ‘the need for reach’.
Keeping in mind the business approach of its users, Instagram introduced Instagram for Business with the aim to provide latest news, tips and stories for their vibrant community. In their latest feed post, the page shared a tip about tagging products on Instagram for greater customer growth.
As per Instagram:
“Your shop isn’t the only place you can sell products on Instagram. If you have a business account and have enabled Instagram Shopping, you can tag the products that are featured in your feed posts, stories, reels and IGTV so that customers can shop straight from your content.”
In their short yet effective video tutorial, Instagram has explained the step by step procedure one needs to follow for tagging products. However there are a few prerequisites:
- The user must have a Business or Creator account (if not then one can always switch to a business/creator account in settings tab)
- Before tagging the user must upload products to their catalog.
- Instagram Shopping must be enabled.
If all the prerequisites are met then follow the steps this video:
