Apart from being the nation’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi also happens to be the country’s favourite travel influencer. The fact that he finds time to visit the country’s hidden gems and aid the tourism industry of that particular region, is truly astounding. PM Modi visited the archipelago, Lakshadweep on January 2, 2024, to lay the foundation stone of several developmental projects worth more than Rs. 1,150 crores.
During his delightful two-day sojourn, the Prime Minister embraced the thrill of snorkelling to explore the island’s underwater life. The PMO’s official social media accounts released pictures from his travel escapade yesterday. The stunning images capture the essence of his aquatic adventure which he aptly described to be “exhilarating.” His early morning strolls along the pristine beaches of Lakshadweep were “moments of pure bliss“.

He sure knows how to balance it all. Clad in a relaxed black kurta, a shawl, and white slippers, he took in the serene backdrop of endless blue waters and sand. The visuals painted a picturesque scene of both solitude and connection with nature.
Prompted by the beauty of Lakshadweep, PM Modi had a moment of reflection. He shared his sentiments stating, “In addition to the breathtaking scenic beauty, the tranquility of Lakshadweep is also undeniably mesmerizing. It provided me with a profound opportunity to contemplate and strategize on how to channel even greater efforts towards the welfare of our 140 crore Indians.”
The Business
Modi was in Lakshadweep on January 2 and 3 to inaugurate the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection. He also laid the foundation stone for the renovation of the primary healthcare facility and five model Anganwadi centres. Furthermore, the PM dedicated several projects to the nation.
