The “Saltburn” and “Euphoria” star had recently taken off for his home country, Australia, to attend the upcoming Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards. Jacob Elordi was at Clovelly Hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs when he was approached by Joshua Fox, a producer for “The Kyle & Jackie O Show” on KIIS FM. Elordi got uncomfortable with Fox’s line of questioning which resulted in an alleged altercation.
The Reported Assault
Fox is known for crashing Married At First Sight weddings for his Instagram account MAFS Funny. According to Joshua’s account of events, he asked Elordi if he could have some of his bathwater for Jackie O for her birthday — a reference to a viral scene in “Saltburn.” Elordi asked Fox to stop filming and delete the footage, post which the situation allegedly escalated. It’s being reported that Jacob was infuriated by Fox’s questions, thereby leading to the said altercation.

Police Inquiry In Place
Fox spoke about the incident on ‘The Kyle & Jackie O Show‘. “And then Jacob kind of just flips and he kind of pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat” he said. The New South Wales Police said they are investigating the matter.
“Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs,” read a statement from NSW Police.
“Police were told about 3:30 p.m. on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries. Inquiries into the incident is continuing.”
Jacob Elordi’s Career Graph
Elordi is currently on a hot streak, with his recent performances in “Priscilla” and “Saltburn” earning critical acclaim. He has been nominated for Supporting Actor for “Saltburn” at the BAFTA Film Awards, as well as the Rising Star Award. Jacob starred as Elvis Presley in the 2023 biopic “Priscilla” alongside Cailee Spaeny as the titular character, based on the memoir Elvis and Me.
His upcoming projects include Paul Schrader’s “Oh, Canada” and Guillermo del Toro’s “Dr. Frankenstein,” in which he’ll be playing “The Monster.” Elordi had recently hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live with Renee Rapp on January 20.
For now, it remains unclear whether he’ll be appearing at the AACTA Awards or not. The main ceremony is slated to take place on February 10 at the Home of the Arts on the Gold Coast. Jacob Elordi has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role in the black comedy film Saltburn.
What This Says About Celeb-Fan Interactions
Given that we’ve never seen Jacob be like this or even heard of any such altercation involving him in the past, surprises us as to what went differently for him this time. We will also have to wait to hear his side of the story. Many a time, we hear of such incidents where interactions between celebrities and fans end up getting heated because either the fan oversteps or the celebrity is not in a good mood.
Either way, indulging in such violence is not correct at all. When a celebrity feels uncomfortable about a particular fan’s behaviour they can politely resolve it through dialogue or not engage with them at all. And fans, too, need to be aware of the boundaries, which they should not overstep. Let’s wait and watch what happens next in Jacob Elordi-Joshua Fox’s case.
