Being friends when you should be is what matters over time. There have been many shows that talk about friendships. The shows touch our hearts and some of them just stay with us throughout. One such show is the American sitcom Friends; one of the most favorite ones among people. But there’s another Indian show that is making difference in people’s lives through its OTT presence- Panchayat.
Panchayat is an Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama web series created by The Viral Fever for Amazon Prime Video. The series scripted by Chandan Kumar was directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, which features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, and Faisal Malik. It chronicles the life of an engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote fictional village Phulera of Uttar Pradesh due to a lack of better job options.
There were instances where the show displayed that every work has its own value and people should respect it. In one of the scenes, a dancer tells Abhishek this and it is a subtle yet very meaningful scene.
The show has Neena Gupta who is the real panchayat but is underrated as Panchayat’s wife. But in season one they show, how she takes up a step to learn new things in life. This definitely teaches that there is no right or wrong age for learning.
Imagine, if Abhishek did not listen to the people of Phuleera when they said, “Upar tanki se dekhenge toh Phulera se sundar koi jagah nahi hai.” If he did not listen to them, he would’ve not met Rinki the way he did! So take a chance and explore new places from their point of view over tourist point of view.
Talk about friendship and these four come to your mind if you’ve seen the show. In more than a single way, they’ve shown how being there for friends is really something that goes all the way.
While working as a Sachiv, Abhishek did not give up on his dream of becoming an MBA. So he studies and takes an extra step each day to get closer to his dream. There are challenges from day one when he steps into Phura but with time he learns to face it all and finds a solution for each of his problems.
Friends like Family– the correct phrase for their friendship. Imagine finding friends in your work colleagues. Amazing, right? Truly, if you’ve good work partners, half of your stress is solved anyway. This series has shown us that. Despite all the stress, they made sure their Sachiv ji is happy at the end of the day.
This wholesome show won hearts because it was so relatable and the cast has done justice to the writer’s characters. Abhishek (Jitendra Kumar)did acting in a way that it makes you feel you’re right there in Phulera facing all the stress, problems and fun situations with him.
This show has displayed that if you keep trying to make everyone happy, you’ll be disappointed and would end up disappointing others too. This show has given many lessons in a very simple way. If you have not watched it, both seasons are available on Prime Video.
