Mr. Beast and Mark Rober launch #TeamSeas Initiative

Environmental crisis is a real threat to the world. This also involves climate change caused by pollution of all kinds. One of the most visible threats to the environment is dirty beaches along with dirty oceans. Sadly there is a lot of trash in them which is harmful to marine life as well as hampers our living too.

While cleanup activities are in progress, not many people are aware of them. Which is why two of the biggest YouTubers on planet, Mr. Beast and Mark Rober have come together to launch a fundraiser program called #TeamSeas.

#TeamSeas is the successor of their previous initiative #TeamTrees where they aimed to plant 20 million trees for every dollar donated. The fundraiser was a major success and they smashed their goal of 20 million by a handsome margin with some trees being planted till date!

As for #TeamSeas, the goal of this program is to remove trash from the oceans. The aim is to remove 30 million pounds of trash before January 2022! The fundraiser works similar to the way #TeamTrees worked, except for every dollar donated there will be one pound of trash less in the oceans. The two individuals also uploaded videos on their respective channels showcasing the efforts of this program.

The #TeamSeas initiative is fully supported by YouTube furthermore a lot of other YouTubers around the world have come in support to spread awareness about this noble effort.

Two years ago we planted 20,000,000 trees and now we want to remove 30,000,000 pounds of trash from the ocean with #TeamSeas! $1 = 1 less pound of trash in the ocean!” says Mark Rober on his Instagram.

We want to remove 30,000,000 pounds of trash from the ocean with teamseas!! $1 donated is 1 less pound of trash in the ocean!” Mr. Beast says on his Instagram.

Just within 5 hours of the #TeamSeas announcement, over 3 million pounds of trash got removed from the oceans!
